Fresh tea on a very “timeless” leading lady ☕️

This unmarried, critically worshipped actress with a famously mysterious personal life apparently has one very specific weakness - younger men.

Industry whispers say she rarely dates within her own age bracket and has a soft spot for younger actors, models and creative types. Very discreet, very private, and apparently far more active than her public image would ever suggest.

Let’s just say the Crew around her keeps getting younger.

Hot tea from one of Bollywood’s biggest production houses ☕️

Take this as industry chatter, not gospel but apparently the casting situation at this banner is getting very interesting.

First up, their once-favourite commercial hero who debuted with them and later built his own fairly successful franchise space has apparently rejected three scripts sent his way. Not one. Three. The production house still wants to work with him, but he doesn’t seem interested in saying yes just for old times’ sake anymore.

Then there’s another former Dharma launch boy, who was apparently being considered for a proper glossy commercial rom-com. Talks were on, but after the teaser of his upcoming film landed with a thud online, the makers have very quietly started looking elsewhere. Nobody has officially dropped him yet, but he has apparently been given enough of a hint to understand where things are headed.

The third one is more personal.

A dancer-turned-actor who suddenly became the industry’s new favourite after a breakout supporting performance was apparently supposed to headline an out-and-out comedy for the banner. But after his latest film flopped, and after certain comments he made while promoting it reportedly didn’t sit too well with the head honcho, that enthusiasm has disappeared very quickly. The project may survive. His casting probably won’t.

And then comes the biggest piece of tea.

The filmmaker-producer running the banner apparently wants his next directorial to reunite him with the superstar who gave him some of his biggest films. Yes, that superstar.

Problem is, one of the superstar’s oldest filmmaker friends the one responsible for some of his most iconic masala entertainers, had apparently approached him for something well before this conversation even began.

So the much-hyped reunion everyone keeps waiting for may happen eventually, but the filmmaker might have to stand in line for a while.

Industry tea ☕️

Some slightly wild things doing the rounds lately 👀

  1. A very public Bollywood relationship is apparently much more “arrangement” than romance at this point. Both know, both are fine with it.
  2. One actor currently being praised for an upcoming film has apparently had a large chunk of the original lead’s role quietly shifted to him after the first cut.
  3. A married star has allegedly become very close to someone from a film that hasn’t even been announced yet. Their respective teams are already nervous about outdoor schedules.
  4. One actress has reportedly refused to promote an upcoming film alongside her co-star. Official reason will be “scheduling”.
  5. A supposedly shelved sequel isn’t shelved at all. The problem is that the original lead is no longer wanted in it.
  6. A director whose last film was praised for its “vision” apparently had another filmmaker quietly reshoot a significant portion of it.
  7. Two stars who publicly act extremely warm with each other have apparently not spoken properly in months. Their joint appearances are handled entirely by teams.
  8. One recent breakup that looked sudden was apparently decided months earlier. They stayed together publicly because two brand contracts depended on them remaining a couple.
  9. A young actor’s sudden run of big films has apparently less to do with box office and more to do with one extremely powerful person backing him behind the scenes.
  10. A major actress is apparently sitting on a completed film because she hates it and doesn’t want it releasing anywhere near her next theatrical project.
  11. One filmmaker has quietly been asked to leave his own franchise after the star complained that the last film damaged his image.
  12. And the messiest one: a film being sold as an “original” is apparently close enough to an unreleased foreign project that people involved are hoping nobody notices before release.

Awarapan 2 could’ve done ₹200cr+ if they hadn’t held back on the romance?

So there’s apparently been an internal survey/discussion around Awarapan 2 and why the film may have missed the kind of potential the makers were expecting. And one of the takeaways doing the rounds is genuinely wild : the absence of a proper kissing/intimate scene apparently hurt the film’s appeal, especially with the younger audience.

The expectation, from what’s being said, was that the film had the ingredients to go ₹200 crore+, but somewhere the romance supposedly didn’t feel “complete” or intense enough for a section of the audience. And apparently even the makers have acknowledged this as one of the things that could’ve been handled differently. Which is hilarious when you think about it.

We have reached a point where a film can have music, heartbreak, nostalgia, Emraan Hashmi and the entire Awarapan legacy behind it… and the post-mortem is basically: “Should’ve let them kiss.” 😭

Not saying a kissing scene magically adds ₹100 crore to the box office, but with Emraan + Awarapan, maybe audiences genuinely expected that old-school unapologetic romance which was part of his entire era.

YRF brokered Netflix–Samay deal for IGL after Prime Video walked out, Alpha marketing could be the reason

Apparently Prime Video had walked out of the India’s Got Latent deal, and after that YRF stepped in and brokered the deal between Netflix and Samay.

But the interesting part is why YRF would even get involved in this.

From what I’m hearing, IGL is there biggest hope from a marketing point of view for Alpha. Samay has that exact internet-native youth audience which YRF would badly want for a film like Alpha. Traditional promotions can only do so much now, but getting into Samay’s ecosystem gives them direct access to a massive loyal audience.

If true, pretty smart move honestly.

Am I the only one who can’t stand the smell of these?

Lately, I’ve noticed that almost every cab I get into has one of these hanging inside. Maybe it’s just me, but I find the fragrance way too strong and artificial. Sometimes it feels more overwhelming than the smells they’re supposed to cover up. Do people actually like these, or am I in the minority here?
