The UFL needs to stop scheduling Battlehawks home games against Cardinals home games

I was curious how often this actually happens, so I went back through the schedules.
Since 2024, the Battlehawks have had 11 regular-season home games on the same day the Cardinals were also playing at home at Busch Stadium.
By year (out of 5 home games a season):
2024: 4
2025: 3
2026: 4
And on top of that, this is out of the leagues control but all 3 Battlehawks home playoff games from 2024-2026 were on days the Cardinals were also home.
So that’s 14 Battlehawks home games in four seasons competing with a Cardinals home game downtown.

I know St. Louis is a great sports town, but this just feels like the league is unnecessarily hurting itself. You’re asking a lot of the same local sports fans to choose between the Cardinals and Battlehawks, sometimes with the Blues playing too.

Obviously the Cardinals aren’t the only thing that affects Battlehawks attendance, but with only a handful of UFL home games every year, avoiding Cardinals home dates seems like something the league should prioritize whenever possible.

What tools do you keep around for preventative maintenance on lighting fixtures?

We’re putting together a rolling preventative maintenance cart for our lighting department, and I’m curious what tools or supplies everyone considers essential for fixture maintenance.

The idea is to have one cart we can roll out when we’re going through moving lights for cleaning, inspection, small repairs, and general preventative maintenance.

Obviously we’ll have the basics hand tools and lens wipes but I’m especially interested in the less-obvious stuff you’ve found useful over the years.

What tools, testers, cleaning supplies, lubricants, spare parts, or random little gadgets do you always want nearby when doing fixture maintenance?

I wish you could simulate a true operating day from open-close

One thing I’ve wanted is for the park to actually feel like it opens and closes each day.
Imagine something like this:
8:00 AM: Guests start arriving with a morning rush and filling the park.
Midday: Crowds peak and queues build.
Evening: The gates stop admitting new guests, but people already inside keep riding.
Closing time: Rides finish their last cycles, guests head toward the exit, and the park empties.
Overnight: Janitors clean, mechanics repair rides, shops restock, and staff prepare for the next day.

Instead of the park feeling like it’s running in a perpetual state, every day would have its own rhythm. Once I am done building my park I would love to watch it play out throughout a day, seeing it fill from the entrance and then clear out and make staff adjustments based on the schedule.

Challenge Mode rules to make business management more fun?

For those that like playing with money on and managing your park and growth, what are some rules you establish for yourself before starting a new challenge mode park?
It seems like the game can get too easy too quickly.
Whether it’s setting price limits per ride type, only charging for entry, staff wages… what is reasonable?

I remember seeing a YouTuber play PC1 and only charge a preset amount per ride and it made it more interesting but I can’t find who it was and what he charged. Would love to set a custom scenario up for myself before jumping into the game again.

Lucy’s Mexican (now on 7th st) has the best breakfast burrito in Joplin!

After moving from ABQ I have tried a lot of breakfast burritos in Joplin in search for what I had back in New Mexico. Lucy’s is the winner for me. I get the traditional breakfast burrito (hash browns, eggs, sausage, bacon) and add shredded cheese and sour cream. It’s huge and filling with a perfectly grilled soft tortilla and $7.99. The hash browns in it are good! You should experience this burrito. If there are any other Mexican spots with a breakfast burrito I may not know about let me know.

I kicked my shin on a pelican case and created popcorn pyro

Idk if you had to be there for it to be funny but the reason I am laughing in bed right now is because the other day at work I hit my shin on a Pelican case, groaned like I was dying, then while trying to catch myself I immediately and accidentally stepped on an unopened bag of popcorn and it exploded loudly and shot popcorn everywhere. My coworker who was the only one that saw it lost it so hard that I’ve been laughing about it for two days. Whew okay.

Ump stands too close to me as a catcher?

I did not play baseball (I went from tee-ball to slow pitch rec league softball). I am a catcher and I like to stand 2-3 steps back from the plate to get a read on a bounce or tip. We have one particular ump that pretty much stands right on top of me, sometimes even bumps me with his arm. Often slightly in front of me, but I feel like I have no space and he is in the way of getting foul tip. It’s like his style is to get up close and personal, he stands a lot closer than the other umps we sometimes have. Is this normal for slow pitch? He just seems in the way!
