Assistance with pendant

Edit: I learned from the seller that it is indeed foil backed and I just don’t think i can trust myself with something that needs special care, I will forget and shower with it. I do love the irregularity of it though maybe it’s not everyone’s taste.

Hello, I was hoping someone could help me with more info on a piece I am thinking about buying. It apparently was an antique earring that was converted. They are rose cut diamonds and 14k gold. I love it but I’m wondering how durable it would be. I understand that if diamonds have foiled backs then they are not safe for water and I am kind of hard on things and an active person. Are these foiled backs? Anything else I should know?

The electric bloom hoodie is awesome

I know I am one of the many who aren’t totally behind the electric bloom jerseys but the hoodie is 🔥. I love the logo (it’s the oregon state motto “she flies with her own wings” in Latin) and it’s super cute and soft and a little cropped/boxy. I can’t stop wearing it! It’s pretty new, I just got it at either the last home game or the one before. Just sharing so everyone who’s mad about the jerseys can consider this as a consolation prize

Bird pendant ideas?

I have two small (.2 ct?) diamonds from family jewelry that I would like to have made into two matching antique inspired bird pendants, like a swift or a swallow. Perhaps using the diamond for the eye, or set into the body. I know these are fairly common Victorian jewelry. If you have anything like this, I would love to see photos for inspiration! I have found some online but feel like I need some more ideas for where to set the diamond when there’s only one.

Any bird jewelry really! I love seeing bird designs 🐦 🙏

This is NOT mine, but here is a really cool pendant that I found online.

A different floor option

Our century house is on the small side for a family so the half finished basement is really useful office/gym/kid hangout space. The floor was peeling painted concrete when we bought it but we didn’t want to have any kind of flooring put in due to the risk of water coming in (we get a trickle once in a while from the concrete wall on the other side of the house if we are not meticulous about the gutters)
We ended up having the existing concrete polished and stained and I love how it turned out and it was on the more affordable side, as flooring goes. But I especially love how you can see the history of the work done on the house over the years through the patches in the concrete. The trench is from when the old cast-iron pipe finally gave up. That was an expensive plumbing emergency. The strange oval patch, I don’t know, I worry there’s a body under there or the portal to the Hellmouth.
I know it is a more modern look than most would typically want in an old house but wanted to share because it really is a good basement option!

Who is she?

This is from my dad‘s grandmother’s family I am told, possibly from New York where that side of the family is from. He knew nothing about it other than that he always liked it. Unfortunately, there is no signature or marking on it and the frame is in rough shape. She’s a pretty girl and I would just love to know anything more about it if that’s possible.

Pruning potted maples

I dug up a couple of volunteer seedlings from the yard to put in planters by the front door (the larger one I dug up about a year ago, and had in a smaller pot for a while). I just love the ombré colors of new growth! The larger one might end up too big for this spot though. Does anyone have a bonsai for dummies/tree in pot type of pruning guide they like and can link? I don’t mind experimenting on it bc we don’t have space for another big tree.

Curious about this ring

I was given this ring passed down from family, but no one knew anything about it. The diamonds aren’t big, but they’re so cute and round like little gumballs. I love it and was wondering more about the age and cut. Are these old European cut? Is it safe to wear regularly?
There aren’t any markings at all, but it certainly looks like gold.
Love any information from experts! As an aside, this ring has sent me down a rabbit hole and now I am convinced that I need a giant old mine cut diamond or my life will be incomplete. These diamonds are just so much warmer and cuddlier than my (much larger) 3 stone engagement ring I’ve worn for 20 years. I don’t know how to describe it.

Built in 1926 in Oregon. We love this house and are trying to keep everything as original as possible, but we did redo the kitchen (see before and after- we didn’t take out anything worth keeping, original floors were unfortunately gone) and put in a bathroom. The fireplace, most other floors, and most of the windows are original and a couple horse rings on the curb. We have swifts nesting in the chimney right now for the second year!
Did anyone do anything to celebrate their house hitting 100 years?
