Anyone look at the users online and be like "who even are these people anymore"?

The type of user I see online is unrecognizable. It's just an influx of everyday people...

Your mechanic, the nurse, the cashier, that uber driver, a school teacher, etc. literally everyone.

You open up the comments to any youtube music video and the top comment is "here is my age, my occupation, my life story, and why this song means a lot".

When did everyone start dumping so hard on the internet?

Is there any community that preserves the anonymity and nuance that comes with that. Yes, reddit is semi-anonymous, but I just saw a dude ask for a subreddit that features real names and face pictures, literally wants a facebook subreddit. Everyone gives out personal details unprompted.

What happened to people who were just doing the internet thing, and not treating the internet as an extension of IRL?

pushing deer is dumb

any time I go to push a deer,

  • my TC goes idle
  • my worker sent to boar dies
  • another one gets sent, also dies
  • get the short end of the palisade walls, lose relics, gold and stone.
  • worker sent to build market gets eaten by a snake
  • get housed
  • can't get the last deer it's just hugging the treeline
  • teammate leaves
  • forget how to make military
  • somehow have no resources

i donno man

BF6 has a Top Gun promo, what's AOE2 got?

I would think a Game of Thrones expansion with 3 factions and dragons for siege would be historically accurate.

Think about it 🤔

Saw Polaris video after reading the comments

And can 100% confirm you negative nancies affect viewing experience as you qualms did big me. Not what cleetus did or didn't do, but your whining was on my mind.

Didn't let it big me though and watched the full video and it was one of the most fun ones around.

Love seeing the dudes having fun out on the dunes. Also the camera work was amazing, and made dune riding very immersive.

Nice vid do more

now is the perfect time to leave the internet -> not why you think

Just saying that now is like the perfect spot to leave the internet, with the ushering in of A.I. and the cultural shifts that will take place. Meaning that the rate of change of the internet has gone parabolic, and big changes are abound. That totally reads like a horoscope, but it's more like the maid wants to clean your hotel room, go get lunch, don't watch her fold your towels into a swan and instead come back pleasantly surprised.

What I'm saying is that in no other time has there been the potential for "take a year off, when you come back, the landscape will be drastically different" as much as there is now.

I am actually excited to do this! Like take a break, and then get a fresh introduction to a new internet, as if it were new and novel again.

In the meanwhile I'm considering hosting a PHPBB forum with focus on creative showoff and no discussions, like a vault or bunker to hang out in for like a year, with the function of a mini-artstation like website. Artstation basically is a phpbb layout. Thing is I want comments and discussions to be detatched from the rest of the internet, and solely focus on the creative enterprise. Much like hosting a creative server, versus a PVP server. Skip the drama and live on an island for a year.

Do you think it's possible to make a bunker like this? Or would people leech too much social media into it? Are the rules "simply discuss things that don't matter" enough to separate it from the mainstream internet, which seems to discuss mostly "things that matter"?

i have to browse reddit out the corner of my eye

Memes have really gotten into the territory of physiological weapons. There was a post the other day on (amioverreacting) of a girl whose BF sent her some relationship meme which caused her lots of distress, and this is just one example of how harmful they are. Like happy go lucky relationship, why not inject a whole lot of doubt into the partner lol. FUNNY MEME LOL!

Like all of the content is like trauma related, wrapped an a supposedly humorous template? It's not really funny a lot of the time.

Like how many posts a day do I have to scroll by that are all like "well here's the harsh reality of this situation", in other words "let me ruin your day for you". Among other post styles.

i dont understand how anyone likes the content of modern internet?

it's literally all social issues!

i thought social media was a place to have fun on the internet, not drown in social issues?

For example, everyone on r/gaming is a dad. So now the subreddit caters to gamers who only have 1 hour to play per night? And now we all have to cater to that? I can't stand it when streamers nowadays literally feel bad for winning in a video game, "oh my god that squad was probably all dads I just ruined their day" lol. Heard shroud say that, heard summit say that. It's like, what? What the fuck?

Everyone else on r/gamedev is also a dad, and quit their job to be a game developer. There are no posts about game development, just whining about how it's hard to make money to support a family.

Where are all the "normal" people lol? For lack of better term... people who don't make everything about themselves and their problems?

I guess it's hard to run a content mill like reddit without beating a dead horse.

pole konnicks meta

the meta seems to be to pronounce them kon-nicks but the proper pronunciation would be closer to coh-neek or coh-niki plural.

In doing so you can clearly communicate with your team, stream, and or otherwise, that you will be sending in the 'horsies' to battle.

In other news, I'm finding poles and other slav nations unplayable, as the language is to uncannily similar to the language I speak on the daily. Every time I click a unit to do anything, it's like I'm entering a polish deli and having my order taken. Anyone else experience this with a civ of their language? I mean the Britons speak English, can't understand em! Chopper. None of the peasants have a Boston or New York accent. It's hard to explain, maybe if they replaced some of the dialogue with variations of kurwa it'd be more lore friendly. On the bright side, if I were teleported back to medieval poland I'd have no issue ordering some deli.

I have to avoid language to not make it seem like I'm soliciting employment.

I'm creating an r_gamedev on a reddit alternative platform with a different focus than this place. Noobs and pros only, no beginners nor newbs. I.e. you must have experience in a particular field already to take part, we do not cater to beginners.

The focus is inspirational and motivational content, along with quality self promotion. We want to see your project, we ARE your fans!

Not launching it just yet have like 2 days, looking for people who are interested in starting and showcasing long form projects on there (i.e. posting once per week).

You've gotta have a gamejam or webdev attitude and want to make and contribute things.

Again, it's a quality content focused place. Very different from this place, closer to a r_unity style sub.

If interested let me know!

>"Traffic Lights

>6 Months Ago, 52,857 views

>A couple of months ago I was driving down a country road and came to a traffic light. It was red. I sat there for a couple of seconds.

>A thought snapped into my mind. Why am I obeying the lights, why are they in control. There is no-one here. I can see for miles, I would know if anyone is coming. So why am I sitting here, obeying the lights? Because I've been told and taught that it's the right thing to do? Or just because I always have? How many human seconds are spent sitting at empty red lights globally?

>All this went through my mind in a fraction of a second. In a fraction of a second I'd noticed it, evaluated it, weighed it up and decided."

Makes sense now in relation to releasing a product that is a passion to the ungrateful, judgemental, and entitled masses. Something to do with hype and expectation and the involvement of the general public and not just people who are your core fan base, if you are a well known and public creator. Has to do with the "experimentation" aspect that studios don't take anymore and everyone wonders why big studios stick to cookie cutter proven concepts an release call of duty over and over again.

Garry is a free man, and City 17 detects an individual on the loose, and the security forces of negativity are activating and engaging.

Prime example of how the general public shoots itself in the foot, and why companies don't want to take risks.
