I joined the family today!

I’ve been eyeing up a Rimowa for a while, I travel for work and i’m tired of using my Travelpro (another brilliant brand I should add, just not premium!) for personal travel and then having to repack all my work stuff when I get back.

I was considering a brand new cabin and then started looking at used models a bit more.

Found a used Topas for £450, posted photos of it in the legit check thread on here and the consensus came back that it was genuine, so decided to take a punt.

Yes there’s wear, yes there are scrapes and a few dents, but it’s literally £450-500 cheaper than what I would have picked up a brand new cabin for abroad with a VAT refund.

Anyway, picked it up today and currently in the process of giving it some TLC in the form of a bit of a clean, getting rid of the sticky label residue and getting rid of some oxidisation of the hinges, which have polished up really nicely.

I’m super pleased with this!

I’m not sure if it’s the bigger or the smaller cabin IATA. If anyone knows the exact model, I would be grateful!

Parcel stuck at Home Counties north MC

Hi everyone,

I’m the recipient of a parcel. It was posted Monday afternoon at Amersham, and has been at Home Counties North MC since Monday evening.

RM advised that the sender paid an underpaid postage fee, but that the parcel was with revenue protection.

They’ve mentioned I would need to wait until the 8th before claiming that it’s lost.

To top it off, the parcel shop scanned the label again *after* it was picked up, so my tracking hasn’t updated to show it’s at the MC.

Given that it’s been at the MC for around 5 days with no further update, what are the chances it’s lost or that they just have a backlog?

Also, if I end up claiming it’s lost at some stage, but it’s actually delayed, what happens? Does the parcel carry on through the network and end up being delivered, does it go back to the sender or does it go to some sort of RM black hole lol.

It’s tracked 24.

Cost of replacement bumper and wheel housing

Pre LVMH aluminium cabin, not covered by warranty.

Dented bumper and cracked wheel housing.

How much am I likely to be looking at paying for these repairs in the UK?

Sizing off, where do I stand with a refund?

Sizing is off and doesn’t correspond properly. I’ve ordered what a pair of GPS which I think will be too small.

The site says no refunds, where do I actually stand with a refund though in my case? There’s multiple threads on here regarding the size charts being bugged snd generally making no sense.

I’m in the UK so realistically, an exchange won’t be cost effective (nor should I have to pay for the cost of the shipping for them to be sent back when the sizing is the way it is) and I also don’t want to hold off buying the size I think I will need in case they sell out by the time my original order has arrived and I’ve tried them on.

Rumours on next color way for GP?

Tom Sachs newbie. Missed being able to get my size in the last drop, are there any rumours when the next release will be and what sort of colour that release will be for the GP shoe?

Cuckoo. Horrendous experience so far.

Cityfibre engineer turns up yesterday to perform installation. Asks me to setup eero in front of him.

Eero doesn’t connect as it can’t find a WAP IP address. Engineer says it’s an activation issue with Cuckoo and leaves.

Phone Cuckoo who go through the process of soft and hard resetting eero whilst I’m on the phone, none of it works and she says it will be looked into.

No update, so phone someone else at Cuckoo and they say it’s a common issue, it’s typically resolved within an hour and if it isn’t, call back.

Surprise surprise, it isn’t. Call back and the third person says it won’t be active until 2359, possibly due to me switching from VM and that he doesn’t know why his colleagues have told me anything different.

Guess what, I try this morning and I still have the same issue. Try swapping for an existing eero, same issue.

Call again this morning and someone else says there’s a fault with the line, a ticket has been raised with Cityfibre to make remote changes with the ONT and that it should be done today but it could be around 3 days before with the ticket grading depending on how busy Cityfibre techs are.

Late afternoon today and still doesn’t work. Call back, ask to be put through to a team leader to escalate this. “Sorry, we can’t do that” 🙄

Offers to escalate the ticket and promises for someone to call back tomorrow with an update, regardless of the status of the ticket (I shouldn’t have to keep ringing and finding out what’s going on) - we’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Has anyone else had a horrendous experience like this?

And has anyone had the same issue where remote changes have had to be made before you actually go live?

Also, why the hell do Cityfibre engineers leave without checking all of this?

I literally have no idea how long it will be before I get internet again.

Absolute s***show so far.
