how are everyone's shiny odds?? (zorua community event)

I've played some of the mainline games when I was a kid. I've only started Pokemon Go a week ago at most, and today I found out there was an event.

Honestly, I never expected to get not one, but TWO shiny Zorua not even 10 mins apart!!! My first ever shiny was unexpected haha. Especially with the transformation gimmick.

Odds are usually one in hundreds. I know it probably gets easier during events, but I'm still quite happy!

Have you guys had more encounters in a certain time window? It's 17:00 here now.

Your study material/competitive expectations (first time joining)

Hi students, execs, and any HOSA-affiliates, I'm a Canadian who had gotten the opportunity to join through my school, because I didn't know in my freshman year. They offer a couple of non-healthcare SHSMs but otherwise has a very high reputation for athleticism. I only volunteer with my city's paramedic youth group at a Standard CPR-C/AED level, no other certs from Red Cross though the others have.

I figured HOSA would be my chance to expand my career horizon at school too. However, despite being highly interested in medicine and knowing that I have capable of committing and putting in the work, I don't have any textbook knowledge. Nor friends to work with (haha...)

Maybe I've skimmed through basic anatomy and root terminology on the internet, I've just stopped at pathophysiology. I know there are events for EMT and First Aid/CPR, since I've read the competitive guidelines, and I think my level of expertise/confidence in scenarios is far too insufficient right now. This semester, our HOSA is going to meet on Thursdays and I've made the list for my grade. I don't know how honestly since I don't have science until next sem lol.

So my questions are:

  1. Where do I start textually?
  2. Which specialty do you guys think I should choose?
  3. How does preparation for SLC and ILC work?

Any online material works, and I'll try looking at what my group provides as well.

Thank youu!

understanding body cues, eating when no one else is

It has been 1 month in recovery, with a few short relapse days, but I can't believe how far I've gone with myself and some help from mum! My body lost trust in me for half a year, mentally and physically. Now that the latter has changed for the better, there's a few things that are sorta hindering it from consistency.

My semester just began and I realized that I still lack so much mental clarity. I'm so concerned that it'll truly affect my performance. For a while now, I've practiced honouring hunger with my energy dense cravings. That's ok, haven't stopped. But I struggle a lot with the guilt or sitting with the fact that I'm not extremely full, cycling over and over until I think about my next chance to feel that way.

I believe these are common experiences here, so in this case, it's the brain fog. My family support at home will be well-aware of what's going on academically, and if it weren't for eating being up for accountability, that alone will bring me down deep/hard.

Rn I'm used to having all of my meals and snacks late. I just can't seem to prioritize work regardless of being hungry, full, satisfied. After dinner, I'll stay in the kitchen to eat bits of everything I'd never had pre-ED, and until my mom, dad, or younger sisters notice from downstairs, this will last until bedtime.

It's also difficult that my stomach hasn't been responding well. At all. Actually, I never had this problem coming back from restriction.

I don't really know. I do know I have an intake in 2 weeks for my o/p program, but medically or professionally I'm unsure what they'll do about this.
AN wasn't with me for a long time but it certainly influenced it that way. I'll bring it up often here, but I feel lonely at this time of life.

all (too much sugar) or nothing?

Good evening, 14f here. I've spent several months with restrictive eating this year, a few of which with periods of improvement, slowly returning to the same behaviours in June/July.

This August, I got to see some healthcare professionals. During that time, I still retained the exact same mindset. The thing is, my habits changed quite drastically and now my outlook for them will be different in just 2 weeks.

Essentially, a very rapid increase in the amount of ultra processed foods/sugars on top of a full cessation in activity.

What's really dangerous about this is that I choose to either spend the entire week doing this OR restriction. No in-betweens. I'm so scared because this has become an everyday thing now, more so what this will do to my body long term. I would love any input.

unsure what to do about myself

Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well - I've been looking around this sub + a few other resources for a while, and I just need some guidance. Teenage girl who hasn't been formally diagnosed but has seen a family doc, psychiatrist, and therapist who don't specialize in this.

For a little over half a month now, I haven't been able to respond to my ED habits. My body feels and is A LOT different than when I was last seen. Reflecting on this, I think horribly about being physically healthier since my mind is actually in a worse place.

I'm going to see my doc this Wed to talk about blood work results. I also know that I may need professional help, but right now,

  1. Is it possible that I have deemed myself "less eligible" for the program since I've started to sustain things quickly?
  2. If guilt overwhelms every decision I make, but it doesn't keep me from making those decisions, can I truly ever live outside an ED on my own?

I personally know that my family will just not choose treatment if I seem ok in one area... I have lost so much spark at a young age and I really don't know how to express that I might need specialized help w/out invalidating anything.

Thank you<3
