Traveling around Europe

So I’m on the reintroduction part of the low FODMAP diet.. I have not had a symptom from anything yet and I’ve had garlic, onion, avocado, bread, pasta, mangos etc (well a little soreness from the bread)

I’m away on holiday to a few countries in Europe soon.. will it set me back if I go a little crazy and have some potentially upsetting foods.

I’m going to places I’ve never been before and would love to eat a bit more normally considering it’s very difficult abroad to go out for dinner and order low FODMAP foods.

I don’t want to ruin the holiday for my bf by not going out to eat anywhere :/

(We don’t go out for food anymore as it’s so difficult to be in a restaurant where soemtbjng isn’t pre marinated in garlic or onion)

Reintroduction of FODMAPs advice

So today is the dreaded day.

I start the reintroduction phase of my low FODMAP diet with my first item being onions…

I haven’t ate onions in 2 years due to the insane pain I would get from eating them so safe to say I am very nervous on how this will go

Does anyone have any tips and tricks?

I’m also UK based

Festival and ibs flare up

I’m on the low FODMAP diet.

On Monday I had a “low FODMAP chocolate sponge pudding” all safe ingredients, ate a safe portion and lo and behold I had the worst ibs flare up I’ve had since staring the low FODMAP diet.

Now Tuesday I did not eat too plain but still kept to the usual low FODMAP diet.

Today Wednesday is my first official day eating extremely plain (oats with water, eggs, rice cakes, potatoes)

I travel to a festival on Friday with the even being on Saturday… what are the chances I’ll actually be fine.

Last time a flare up like this took me two weeks to recover 😭

My stomach is gurgling like crazy, I have bowel movements either multiple times in an hour or nothing for hours.

Any tips and tricks to help me feel better by Friday ?

Why does this keep happening

I live in Scotland but have a polish passport.

My passport is connected to my Settled Status. Every single time I travel back home (Scotland) this happens.

It’s so bloody frustrating as I keep getting rejected and having to faff around at the check in desks and they always tell me I need a visa.. I do not as i have my settled status but when I show them the settled status page or share code no one knows what it is 🫠

Why do airports make this so difficult.

Third time this has happened now.

Help please x

So first two photos is the item I sold, third photo is the person who received it claiming I lied as there was a massive hole in it.. there was NOTHING when I sent the item as I bought it brand new it was just too small and didn’t even try on.

They sent me it back for a refund which I accepted but they had also stated in their report that there was lots of horrible snagging on the jumper.. there wasn’t.

What can I do as they bought a new jumper, made a hole and sent it back?

Scotland - Poland

So long story short.

I’m polish, live in Scotland, have settled status.
Flying to Poland soon for a wee bit and my flight there I’m all checked in and fine.. my flight back my boarding pass has been restricted due to me not having an ETA or Visa… I do not need one.

Will this be an easy fix and WHAT am I supposed to show.

This is the third time I’ve had this happen to me when coming back to Scotland and each time I’ve had to put up such a fight.

It seems to be pick and choose of documents, last time I was prepared with my share code and told it only works within the UK and I had to show my actual GOV.UK status page online. Time before it was the other way round and I had to do a code.

What will it be this time

I understand it can be an easy fix and should be.. the only part that stresses me out is each time they tell me something different

Reintroduction of onions

So in a few weeks I’ll be starting the reintroduction phase (on the elimination phase for around 9 weeks)

The very first challenge as by the book is re introduction of onions. Now I’ve not had an onion in 2 years as the flare ups I got with them sent me into unmovable pain for hours at a time..

My dietician said “it’s fine just try” I know it could somehow have changed and I’ll be fine but I’m also so scared as with onions it can get so bad I need to take time off work.

Can I just skip and never eat them again?

Acid reflux

So I’m currently in the elimination phase and as much as my stomach pain has settled I’m getting horrible acid reflux..

A high amount of low FODMAP fruits and vegetables/ food in general I do not eat as it causes me bad acid reflux… I kind of have no choice right now but it’s a bit difficult constantly having to drink Gaviscon

Anyone experience something similar ?

Toilet habits

(TMI sorry)

I’m in the elimination phase currently and 12 days in with just under a month to go.

For the first maybe 8 days going to the toilet was such a struggle and I’d maybe go once or once every two days then it regulated to daily.. now with someone who has ibs that was wild as I’m used to going to the bathroom 15+ times a day.

Today was the first time I’ve been to the bathroom twice in an hour and my stomach has been ever so slightly sore.

Is this normal? My dietician didn’t explain anything to me so I’ve been thrown in the deep end with a few leaflets and the monash app

I’ve also been eating the same things every day pretty much and there hasn’t been a sudden increase in fibre it’s stayed the same the whole time

diet confusion

I just started the low FODMAP diet yesterday and I understand it’ll take a few days before I adjust to it but I don’t think my dietician explained it all well to me.

She told me to download the monash app and use that for guidance etc and to make sure to stick to the recommended portion sizing and do breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack.

I did and in a whole day had 1000 calories.. I’m a 24 year old female

I get I could’ve added more different foods but it’s been so difficult figuring out what I can actually have and with a previous ed I’m nervous this is going to send me down a slippery slope.

Any helpful tips for doing this correct? Also being made to get out a scale and weigh everything I eat is not the most fun.

intense pain after coming back from vacation

I went on vacation two weeks ago just came back about five days ago, and since I’ve been back I have been in pain every single day from the minute I wake up to when I go to sleep.

I’m also due my period soon and always close to period times my stomach has hurt a lot more but I cannot deal with this as constant. I’m barely sleeping.

I manage to eat and drink okay but it’s like every time I eat something my stomach hurts I go to the bathroom it’s unbearable and no matter what, and it’s been five days non-stop of some of the worst pain I’ve ever felt.

I don’t know what to do anymore

Amitriptyline weight gain

I’ve been taking a 10mg dose daily for 3 weeks now and it’s insane how much it has helped me, I barely get any pain now and when I do it’s not bad at all.

My biggest issue is I have gained 5kg in 3 weeks and to top it off I’m going on holiday in 7 days. What do I do?

As silly as it sounds it’s had a massive effect on me and I wish I could cancel this vacation
