I've been holding on to these bad boys for a long time. It's most of the first series (and a chunk of the 2nd) and loads of variants. I loved collecting these back then, and thought I'd hang on to them, but I'm downsizing. Good bye friends :-( [In talks with a local store, but send me a DM of you're interested. Much rather them go to a real fan.]
I try to limit my collection to mostly “vanilla” versions of the brothers (no monsters, Godzilla, costumes, etc). List is my list of what I have, don’t have, and don’t want (the ones that are crossed out).
What sets should I add to my hunt?
I ordered both the els and the tamarind tape pressings and…this is what I got :-/ Now, considering the standard studio version costs more, this could have been a bargain, but I already had it and WOULD actually like the other tape pressing. (I’m sure dirty hit support will take care of it, but I thought it silly enough to share).
I’m trying to collect the Batman vs TMNT turtles but there’s this weird thing where Mikey and Don are both easily findable for about $30 but Raph and Leo are both at least double? I wasn’t paying attention to stock and trends back then - was there a production scarcity?
Old man gamer who was too much a kid to beat SMB3 without Game Genie and didn’t have Super Nintendo to play SMW (Where my Sega Channel babies at?!?!) - but I just played through SMW for the first time and it was DELIGHTFUL. I’ve played it a bunch here and there but never to the end. The platforming was perfectly challenging at the end.
So then I’ve moved on to SMB3 and….I mean…it’s “good”, and definitely great for its time, but I often see in this forum claims that it’s better than SMW…but it’s not even close.
I’m not looking to start a fight, but SMB3 people, help me see what I’m missing.
