as a progressive Texan and huge bleachers fan i was so happy to see them go hard for him. jack has been a lot more outspoken lately

ok so I was a casual fan of fun and big fan of Taylor and Lorde so I thought I knew very well who Jack was yet I had no idea who bleachers were until I believe it was 2022 when my 11 year old self saw them on SNL and I was unimpressed. then 2 years later I heard modern girl on alt nation and I’ve loved them ever since. I continue to think I’m the youngest bleachers fan at 16

They are filming an episode of Austin City Limits tonight. Tickets were free through a raffle (as usual). Anyone going?

It’s one of my few Bleachers songs I always skip. It’s never grown on me.

The concert’s not all about me, of course, but on this tour and the last tour, they seemed to lose crowd momentum when they played it. Idk if it’s just my bias? I was surprised they carried this one forward to this tour - it doesn’t seem to be a fan or crowd favorite.

Am I just jaded?

Huge fan, first saw them in Boston at the Road Runner warm up shows before TTSOOSN tour. I was blown away and have seen them 6 times since. Always excellent. I recently saw them at Red Rocks and it struck me what a relatively short show it is. Sometimes they don’t even play for 2 hours. Coming from the Springsteen tree where 3 hour shows are the norm. I’m also a big Billy Strings and Sturgill Simpson fan and both of them play 3 hour shows. I’ll admit that 3 hours can be a bit excessive sometimes but Bleachers shows just feel very short in comparison. Has Jack ever talked about the length of Bleachers shows or his philosophy behind how the set is structured?

**Edit : I am aware of Jack’s opinion of encores and I totally agree that they are a lame tradition. This has nothing to do with encores, only the actual length of the show. They have the material to easily play over 2 hrs. I left Red Rocks feeling like they could’ve played 3-4 more songs.
