On Cumtown Premium episode 5 called Bully Town (Oct 18, 2016), it's so depressing to hear about how sure they were that Trump would lose and his deranged things he said have come true

At 5:10 and onward, they were talking about how Trump raped children, said the "grab em by the pussy" thing, and how he wanted a Gestapo force to go door to door pulling out any immigrants to deport them. That last thing is so depressing because he actually did that finally. Just hearing them share how insane it is but like it could never happen is real dark...

Went back to listen to #376 "How Democracies Fail" with Anne Applebaum. Absolutely terrifying how prescient it was.

It was back in Jun 2024. Anne Applebaum studied authoritarian states all over the world and applied her wisdom to America and Trump in 2024. Every single thing she said came true.

The only thing I disagree with her is that the Trump regime is not "fascist". She made the minor point that she just doesn't like using that word because it can make people think of WW2. I think it's important to use the correct language so it can contextualize current events in our historical understanding of Hitler, Mussolini, and Franco (and Stalin as an authoritarian but not fascist).

It's also pretty sad how Sam can accurately call out what was happening back in 2024, with great awareness, then in the same breath partially blame the woke mob for pushing all these "great thinkers" towards fascism/oligopoly, completely ignoring the systemic capitalist tumors that Reagan, Heritage Foundation, and others catalyzed into American economics. Or: "It's the economy stupid"

Anyway, I'm interested in yall's thoughts on Applebaums predictions and Sam's devolution.

Help! What has happened to my raspberry bushes??

The first photo is one plant that seems to be ok. However the next two photos are of the second plant, and the last 2 photos of are the third plant. All 3 plants are in the containers I bought them in, and it's only been a few weeks. I'm planning on transplanting to an in-ground area within the next few days.

I've been growing vegetables and fruits for several years with many successful harvests, so I'm not new to gardening, which is why I'm at a loss for what to do. I've treated all 3 plants the same: watering deeply every few days, and I gave them all 10-10-10 nutrients one time so far. They're in full sun and I'm in zone 6. It seems like the last two plants are dying and I want to try to figure out before it's too late. Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated.

It's driving me crazy, which episodes did they discuss Russell Vought?

I've searched all over, nothing is coming up. I know for a fact they went over his life, his views, his connections with Christian Nationalism, etc.

Has anyone else noticed that traffic in this sub has gone down sharply?

Is it just me? It seems like every thread had hundreds of comments just a month or two ago, and now each thread has tens, only a few have hundreds.

edit: this has blown up a bit, so I'll just add for visibility: join your local Food Not Bombs (mutual aid) chapter, just volunteer once a week and it goes a really long way in building that community.
