What makes Gen Z actually follow a brand on Instagram?

I'm a Gen Z working in marketing, and my company recently asked me to start creating content for our brand's social media.

I'm a bit confused about what actually works anymore.

Most brands in our niche post things like:

Office life reels
Educational/industry tips
"Day in the life" content

The problem is... the engagement is pretty average. Some of these pages have fewer followers than I do personally.

What's interesting is that a few of my younger Gen Z co workers recently started making content, and their reels are getting significantly more views. In just a few weeks, we've also seen a noticeable increase in followers.

Now I'm trying to figure out what makes people stop scrolling. I don't just want to copy trends I want to create something unique that still feels professional and helps the brand grow.

If you were in my position, what kind of work-related content would you create?

What formats or ideas instantly grab your attention without feeling cringey or forced?

I'd love to hear examples of brand accounts that are absolutely killing it on Instagram or TikTok right now and why you think they're working.

As someone who's obsessed with pasta, help me like white sauce pasta 😭🍝

I'm probably the biggest red sauce pasta fan. I can eat it any day, but here's the thing I absolutely hate white sauce pasta Idk the reason.

I've tried the usual creamy, maida + milk versions, and they just don't work for me that make's me hate fs. 😅

So I'm looking for a white sauce pasta recipe that could actually convert a red sauce lover. Not the basic bechamel recipe I want something with a twist. Maybe roasted garlic, cheese combinations, herbs, mushrooms, caramelized onions, or anything that makes it genuinely addictive.

If you hated white sauce before but found *that one recipe* that changed your mind, please share it. I really want to give it one last chance!

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the same? 🤔

Yesterday, I visited Zero Degree at Z Square Mall, Kanpur for the first time because of all the hype around it.

To be honest, I left feeling pretty disappointed.

We ordered:

🍝 Pasta (they described it as tangy and spicy, but it was neither)
🍕 Pizza (it honestly tasted quite cheap)
🌯 Cigar Rolls (they felt more like regular veg rolls)

Considering the prices they charge, I expected much better quality and taste. I genuinely don't mind paying more for good food, but the overall experience just didn't match the hype.

It actually made me think that some local food spots in Kanpur serve much tastier food at much better prices.

Now I'm curious...

Was this just my experience, or have others felt the same?

If you've been to Zero Degree at Z Square, what did you order, and how was your experience? I'd love to know whether I just visited on an off day or if others have had a similar experience.

Is Gen Z really expecting too much from their first job, or are things just different now?

I recently had a conversation with one of my seniors, and they said something that made me think.

According to them, our generation isn't curious enough to work anymore They feel that many freshers expect high salaries from day one without having the skills or experience to justify it.

I'm Gen Z myself, so I don't completely agree but I don't completely disagree either.

For context, I started earning at 16 by teaching primary school students. My family was financially stable, but I wanted my own money. A few years later, I got my first corporate job.

The salary was lower than I expected, but my mindset was simple: learn first, earn more later. As I gained experience, naturally I started expecting better pay.

At the same time, I've noticed something that genuinely confuses me.

I've seen freshers clear interviews and then ghost companies before joining. I've also seen people expecting salaries that seem quite high despite having little or no corporate experience.

On the other hand, I also understand that many companies underpay freshers and expect them to do much more than they're compensated for.

So I'm curious to know what others think.

  • Do you think freshers today have unrealistic salary expectations?
  • Or are companies expecting too much while offering too little?
  • If you're already working, how much did your first salary matter compared to learning opportunities?

I'm genuinely interested in hearing different perspectives, especially from both freshers and experienced professionals.

Kanpur ka wo secret kya hai jo sirf locals jaante hain?

Hey everyone 👋

I’m working on a LinkedIn page around Uttar Pradesh ke hidden highlights not just famous places, but real stories, local culture, businesses, food, people aur aisi cheezein jo outsiders ko pata nahi hoti.

Abhi mera focus Kanpur pe hai, aur mujhe laga ki best insights un logon se milenge jo actually yahan rehte hain

Hum sab jaante hain Kanpur ko leather industry, IIT, textile aur purane industrial city ke naam se jaana jata hai… but mujhe lagta hai har city ke kuch underrated points hote hain jo bahar ke log miss kar dete hain.

So Kanpur walon, batao:

Aapke hisaab se Kanpur ki wo kaunsi cheez hai jo UP ki baaki cities se better ya unique hai?

Koi hidden food spot, local business, tradition, personality ya story jo zyada log nahi jaante?

Kya Kanpur ka koi aisa talent/innovation hai jisko zyada recognition milni chahiye?

Agar kisi outsider ko Kanpur explain karna ho toh aap kya highlight karoge?

Mujhe specially real local opinions aur underrated facts chahiye jo internet pe easily nahi milte.

Let’s see Kanpur ko actually Kanpur banane wali cheezein kya hain 🔥

(Also, agar aap Lucknow/Agra/Varanasi ya UP ke kisi aur city se ho toh apne city ke underrated points bhi share kar sakte ho 😄
