This is my sixth go round with stone formation in about 12 years, roughly every other year. This is the first one that I can't pass, though based on size, I should be able to. It's been stuck at my UVJ for almost 2 months. Weird anatomy info that is important, I have two ureters on the left side, pretty rare, and the stone is in the upper ureter. On Thursday, my urologist went up there to do a lithotripsy. This man went up there, knowing full well about my anatomy situation, went in the lower ureter, didn't see a stone, pulled the camera and ended the surgery, no stent placed. Cut to Friday I'm still having symptoms, but they told me the the symptoms were from inflammation due to the procedure. Saturday morning I can't take it, go back to the ED. CT shows that damned stone still sitting there. Nos I have a fever, sky high white count in my urine. We decided to go ahead and go back in Saturday night, and of course the second surgeon pulled it out. He was doing a lot of covering for the first surgeon, saying how tricky it was, but come on, EVERYBODY was aware I had two ureters. So no I sit here with double stents on the left side, suffering super bad urinary backup when I urinate, just counting the days till the stents come out.
