Oops! All Carrots!

Oops! All Carrots!

This is for a two-person serving of Sheet Pan Dijon Onion Crunch Chicken. I think I got at least 2x the correct serving of carrots I should have had, but also I got the wrong cut and amount of chicken (10oz chopped instead of 12oz cutlets.) HelloFresh picked this recipe for me in my usual 2-serving size. Neither of the other two meals in the box needs carrots. So I have no clue what happened. Honestly the meal was delicious, and I would order it again, just with less carrots.

Renata Scotto in Lucia — Any recommendations for similarly expressive singers?

I watched this performance from 1967. (I’m sorry but I’m going to gush a bit so if you hate it please skip.) She just had me in stunned silence & rapt attention the whole side. Her amazing facility with dynamics and expression, her coloratura was wonderful — but also, how those vocal choices seemed SO tuned into embodying the meaning of the music and words. The only soprano I’ve ever heard who wowed me in that way, is Maria Callas. I hear a lot of singers that are emotive, that are good or great actors while singing, but I feel like Scotto and Callas simply take storytelling through singing to a new level.

I have a passion for the expressive abilities of the human voice so it is really thrilling and exciting to see someone perform like this. Again, sorry to gush. I am truly astonished and delighted by this performance and I would love more recommendations for exploring Scotto’s recorded work, or anything else you might recommend based on my post. I am a soprano so it would be helpful to listen to sopranos, but I’m sure I would enjoy anyone who fits the bill for being a great vocal storyteller. Thank you. :)

Headshot styling services for opera / musical theatre / singing teacher?

Hello r/ClassicalSinger!
Does anyone know of a service or stylist who helps singers create headshot looks tailored to their appearance, casting type, and the roles they are submitting for?
I’m helping my boyfriend with his actor/singer business. He is pursuing both opera and musical theatre, as well as teaching voice and guitar to students roughly ages 13–18. We have a decent sense of his musical-theatre type, but would love help defining his opera “type” and creating a cohesive visual brand across all three areas.
He is a bearded brunette tenor in his late 30s who reads somewhat younger. We are looking for something polished and professional, but not overly formal or suit-and-tie—approachable enough for prospective students, while still appropriate for opera publicity and MT submissions. We also want to avoid styling that either ages him unnecessarily or feels inappropriately youthful.
I know opera headshots/publicity photos often have a different feel from MT headshots, so I would especially appreciate recommendations for someone who understands both worlds and can help balance them. General advice is welcome too. Thank you!

Headshot styling services for musical theatre / Opera?

Hello!
Do you know people who provide the service of styling headshots personally geared to the person’s appearance, type, and roles they’re submitting for?
I’m helping my boyfriend with his business as an actor / singer / vocalist. He sings opera and MT, and he’s also a voice and guitar teacher. I would love to be pointed in a good direction to get styling tips from someone who will work with both his appearance and the different niches we are marketing him towards.
Thanks so much!!

I have a KALLAX idea for my turntable setup / media. I’ve never done this before! Tips & advice? Anchoring?

Hi! I’ve been inspired by this subreddit for a bit and would love your help. I’ve been trying to find a way to set up my vinyl turntable with limited space, and today I finally figured out a drafting app and came up with this asymmetrical KALLAX stack I think looks cool. I’d love advice on making this design beautiful and stable. I haven’t assembled a lot of furniture in my life let alone put existing pieces together to make a unit. Based on what I’ve seen here it’s not a matter of just stacking them. I’m sure I’ll need help from someone handier than me but I wanted to ask this experienced group’s opinions on my idea and what I need to do or ask for to make it real.

Specific concerns:
- Needs to be renter friendly (ideally not a ton of drill holes?)
- Because of the wall trim the backs of the KALLAX units sit about 1.5” away from the wall rather than flush.
- What’s the most elegant way to anchor and reinforce this - a spacer?
- No plans to paint it.
- I plan to use it for vinyl storage and decor. Which units could hold vinyl records safely - only 3 and 4 or is there a safe way to use unit 1 too?
- I think I might end up using unit 2 for cable management / modem - more functional than decorative.
- I can’t figure out what to do with my speakers — they don’t fit in the cubes and even if they could that would compromise sound quality. Would love suggestions if anyone’s got any.

Thanks SO MUCH for reading! I’m excited to hear your advice / thoughts / opinions. :)

Camelot Piano Conductor / Piano Vocal

I can’t seem to find this anywhere online! (The scribd upload saying “script and score” is just script 😑). I would be so grateful if someone could upload the score for this. Thank you. :)

Are there official workshops or audition intensives for Young Nala in The Lion King?

I have a family member who’s very interested in auditioning for Young Nala on tour / Broadway, and I’d love to help her find opportunities to work on the role before the audition! I’m specifically looking for something along the lines of a workshop, masterclass, or audition intensive connected to the show, where where she could work on material from the show and receive feedback or coaching from people affiliated with the production / creative team / casting process.

A few years ago, I participated in a SIX themed workshop at The Growing Studio where we spent several sessions working on material from the show with members of the Broadway team. My hope is to find something similar.

Does anyone know if opportunities like this exist for The Lion King, or of any programs/organizations I should keep an eye on?

Thank you so much!
