Here's a good topwater option that is incredibly popular here in Japan. I prefer this guide style version to fancier options as while they work very well, they're not the most durable.
Went out hoping for a topwater bite today, but had to dredge clousers on the type 7 sinker. Picked up a few fish of which this was the best.
The torpedo release is good practice for getting the fish back down and oxygenating the gills.

Maybe a bit old fashioned nowadays but the E-Z body sandeel is a great imitation and well worth it's place in your box if you fish temperate waters where sand eel are found. Great for stripers, European Bass, sea run trout and other species too. Tie some.
