Wayfair sent me HALF a sectional… then replaced it with the WRONG sectional.
Back in June, we ordered a sectional from Wayfair. We were so excited because we had just moved into our new house 1,000mi ACROSS THE COUNTRY, and this was the centerpiece of our living room. (it was significantly cheaper than ordering it directly from the manufacturer because of a 4th of July promo being run on Wayfair)
Delivery day comes…
They deliver HALF THE SECTIONAL.
Not only was half of it missing, but the piece that did arrive looked like it had been through a war. It had scratches all over it and looked like a dog had gotten into it. It was damaged right out of the box.
So I spend an hour on the phone with Wayfair getting everything sorted out. To their credit, the agent was very helpful. Since the sectional had gone up in price, they locked the original sale price for us while we waited for the refund to process so we could reorder without paying hundreds more.
Refund finally processes.
We reorder the exact same sectional using the price lock. The agent who originally helped us actually selected the sofa for us, so I wasn’t worried about ordering the wrong thing.
Fast forward to yesterday.
The replacement sectional arrives.
Because it’s a huge couch, we paid movers to bring everything inside and assemble it.
They get the entire thing put together…
…and it’s the WRONG ORIENTATION.
We ordered a left-hand-facing sectional.
Wayfair sent us a right-hand-facing sectional.
It physically doesn’t fit our room. The entire reason we ordered the left-hand-facing version was because that’s the only orientation that works with our layout.
So after paying movers to assemble it, we had to immediately start taking pictures and call Wayfair again.
Cue another hour and a half on the phone.
Now we’re right back where we started:
Wait for another refund.
Use another price lock.
Reorder the correct sectional.
Pray to God that the third time is actually the charm and a left-hand-facing sectional shows up.
At this point, I’ve spent 2.5+ hours on the phone, dealt with multiple deliveries, coordinated movers, and still don’t have the couch we originally ordered back in June.
Has anyone else had this level of bad luck with Wayfair? I feel like I’m living in the world’s longest episode of couchgate. 😭
