Autoimmune Learning/Education Resources ?

Since autoimmune conditions are a western concept I've only found blogposts on the topic. Has anyone come across books or other literature addressing this concept in through the TCM lens ?

Yo San Alumni / Financial Health ??

Are there any recent graduates from Yo San that have an understanding of the school's finances? Or anyone who is able to decipher what to look for in the public 990 non-profit tax returns?

My initial calls with them went great and was told they're in a very good financial state because of an endowment, etc etc. I'm hoping to confirm this from someone who doesn't work there.

I got accepted and will be transferring in many classes which will help offset the crazy cost you really can't escape in this field right now. But still want to make sure I'm not walking into another school that's on the brink of collapse. Thx ~

Social Media for Business

I'm curious if anyone in this community uses social media for their business? I'm a grad student but this is something I've been anticipating since my line of work will be very entrepreneurial.

Do you carry a separate smart "work phone"? Do you do social media stuff from a laptop/desktop instead?

Have you completely bypassed it and been using word of mouth/business cards/etc? I'm really to curious to know if old school ways of marketing have only drawn in older demographics as well?

Car Phone Key / Second Language Speakers

Hi All,

I'm wondering how people who used to regularly use their digital car key and/or speak a second language have adjusted to their flipphone?

I drive a used Tesla which is typically controlled through the app but there is a physical card option (instead of a key). It's not a big deal to carry a card around but wondering if anyone with a feature phone has been able to download their car app? I'm assuming there'd OS compatibility issues ?

Secondly, my family's mothertongue uses different characters, not the Latin alphabet. The T9 keyboard for English already feels daunting but wondering how that's been for other bi+lingual speakers. I've also noticed not all fliphones offer a wide array of languages outside of the common ones: Spanish, German, French. Thanks ~

What is your hot take on organized religions, groups, etc ?

The past several years I stopped affiliating with any form of spiritual philosophy or specific sect/movement. I've been focusing on the All-ness of everything and integrating with the physicality of modern life. But lately I've come to a natural point of change and would like reengage with community.

At this point I can't find myself to take groups sincerely anymore. I've always had a perennial-approach to things but now it's stronger than ever. I find myself disengaged in old groups I used to resonate with. And choosing a new group/philosophy just for the benefit of community feels extremely culture-vulture to me in the context of my personal faith.

How have you guys reengaged with groups and community after establishing your core in mysticism?

4g flip phones - music streaming ??

I'm considering switching to a newer 4g flip phone with app capabilities (ex: CATS22) but I stream music and audiobooks all the time.

I'm assuming the music app would close once I flip the phone close? Can anyone confirm this? It would be amazing if a 4g flip phone could continue to play after it's been closed for when I'm at the gym, moving around, etc. Thanks ~

Provider Reimbursement in other Western Countries (non-US)

I'm curious to learn how acupuncturists in other westerns countries (Canada, Australia, etc) are reimbursed by their country's healthcare system?

Do you feel like acupuncture is well-integrated into the system if it's covered? Are you compensated fairly? Have chosen out-of-pocket instead?

I'm currently doing billing for an acu doctor while I'm in school. I have zero desire to accept insurance in the future, at least for now. I'm curious what it's like in other countries with similar regulatory standards and red tape.

Stocks ?? Ethical ?

I've been in the process of being intentional about my finances and consumer habits for a while now. But now I'm addressing the ethical issue of my mainstream stocks. I barely have any money in them, but enough in case of an emergency. Apple, Google, etc etc.

Has anyone gone through this ? And what was the outcome you settled on?

I'm currently trying to look into publicly traded ethical companies, but truthfully it seems like you're either supporting ethical companies with small/risky returns or massive corporations with good returns. Or having to spend lots of time and effort going through niche companies with a fine tooth comb, which also usually results in being a higher risk choice.

My intention has always been longterm financial stability, not short-term profit, so I'm wondering how to navigate this. Thanks ~

Practicing Acupuncturist Feedback (USA)

As the existing model of acu education falls apart, I'm wondering what practitioners think an ~ideal~ future model would be?

Hypothetically, if costs were reasonable and the same per credit/energy/time spent, do you think a:

vocation model: shorter education timeline, less didactic classes, more in-person experience, more business-forward

or

grad school model: longer timeline, deeper into theory/history, perhaps more complex disease/illness training, prep for white-collar environment (not entrepreneurial)

would be ideal for the current and future state of acupuncture work in the US?

Patient perception seems to be changing post-covid, so the latter professional grad school model seems more appropriate now than ever. Would love to hear thoughts, thanks!

The Los Angeles Apparel cotton bralettes fit me peeeerfectly but the owner is a nasty ass sicko. I purchased the bralettes years ago before I knew his deal.

Currently on the hunt for:

- 90%+ cotton

- NO back clasp

- no padding, no wire

- minimal straps and sides

- scoop and/or triangle plunge cut

Does anyone have any good recs? The closest I've found so far is the $60 Hara Stella bra. It's a bit pricey and has some concerning reviews about staying put on the body. Thanks ya'll ~
