Past Results South Africa vs Morroco
If South Africa got these past results, surely our team can potentially do something great on Saturday?
Maybe Richie can draw a red out of Morroco?
Just wanted to share what I found. There's hope.
Free on the Side of a Rural Road
If someone can point me in the right direction on how to get the best experience from this beauty - that would be greatly appreciated.
I plugged it into my old PC speakers and it works wonderfully. I was smiling the whole time listening to a random assortment of records I got from a small rural thrift store too. I might need to replace the needle? It does sound wonky at times.
Just need to boost the sound (looks like I need a phono amp?).
oh and edit: how best to handle that catch on the spindle(?)?

Is Cavalry about to go on a rampage?
Anyone Interested in OneSoccer - Audio - Only?
This summer is going to be very tough for me to watch any games live.
Listening would definitely be a possibility - in some cases. But games aren't carried on any radio stations that I know of.
I was thinking of asking OS if they would be interested in posting live audio streams as podcasts or YT videos, or both? It might promote the subscription service to more people too.
Does anyone think there would be any interest for this from them or even fans? Like real old school - games over the radio type of thing?
Yes, I could always just listen to the video live - but that uses more battery. And I couldn't close the phone down like a podcast or similar method of listening to audio only.

I'm now ignoring what their league is and whatever "rank" they might be labelled with and just curious to see who comes out of this on top.
I'm surprised by this to say the least.

Voyageurs Cup Data Dump Results after Match 4 & 5
I enter the numbers. They all get calculated in the same manner and are normalized and weighted in the same way.
- TFC lost to a lower level opponent
- Ottawa should maybe get a bonus?
- And TFC more of a penalty?
- Montreal won against an even lower level opponent
- Montreal should maybe get a penalty?
- Blizzard should get a bonus?
- Supra beat a lower level opponent
- Should the Supra get a penalty?
- Woodbridge get a bonus?
- Forge won over a similar level opponent
- Cavalry won over a similar level opponent
I am really looking forward to what Cavalry can do against the Whitecaps.
Same with Vancouver or Langley against Montreal.
And whichever club comes out of the 'CPL' side - or can CS Saint-Laurent make an incredible run - and take down most likely the Caps? But will Cavalry have an Ottleti moment?

CORRRECTION: Voyageurs Cup Data Dump Results after Match 3
u/Wilco499 pointed out that it was odd that CF Montréal was lower than Supra - when seeing that they led in many categories.
I went in and saw that I had used the wrong column for the recoveries category - using the actual stat values instead of the normalized values (normalized compresses the numbers down to values between 0 to 1 - so basically a percentage).
Because of this, Defence was this huge weighted value that made Supra more powerful than they were. And lowered other teams - like Montréal - even more than should be happening.
Thanks Wilco499.
My bad everyone. Apologies.
As mentioned in the past - just a fan, data enthusiast, not data scientist who likes to do this. I share it because I figure someone else might like seeing it. Mistakes will be made. But hopefully they get ironed out soon enough.

There's no real point to the form or the standings. Just want to remind TFC of how poorly they handled this tournament.
Added some more columns. Improvement?
I think I am gonna cancel my Apple+ subscription. It's pointless supporting TFC if they are going to play like this.

Personal observations
- Power is currently based on the last 4 games for each club. Since it is common to do 5 game form reports - I will make it the last 5 CPL games starting next week.
- Outside of the Power rankings for the WEEK - all other stats are made up of all stats to date.
- For goal keeping - goals conceded was added as a measurement. Melvin has let in a lot. I don't know if that's on him or on the backline in front of him. I think it's the same issue with Carducci. TMG has missed a few games?
- Goals conceded was added to Defence as well. Looking at Pacific, I wonder if it's on the backline and Melvin or more due to the midfield not doing their part? Is it a whole team collapse? I remember when the Eddies and Valour were playing like this. I'm not sure it's fair to player mental health to keep them dangling by "for sale" strings.
- If Vancouver can start scoring - they might just jump up in all stats.
- Inter Toronto is defying logic by scoring so many goals while creating so few big chances. Or maybe they're creating big chances that data scientists don't see as BG yet?
- Inter Toronto is also the worst offending team. And seem lucky to not have earned red cards. They could have players sitting out matches due to accumulation soon enough. Althought they do look to be calming things down. Vancouver and Forge seem to get the most beaten up.
- Pacific looks to be earning the wooden spoon this season. And the more I think about it - I think it likely has a lot to do with the club's future.
- Cavalry and Forge are making the case for strongest defences. Forge even more so. Hate on these clubs all you want (if you are not in their fanbases) but they are clearly doing something other clubs are not. They create the most big chances and lead in long balls from their backline.
- predictions for next week. Is purely for fun and discussion. I multiplied goals per game by oppoenents goals allowed per game to come up with a possible result for each match.
So reading through the replies of this thread, I thought my question warranted a discussion of its own.
I assume there are plenty of members here with hot takes and some others with informed opinions.
Considering how many of CanMNT players play or formerly played (this is an important one to me) in MLS, what would be a better move for a gifted CPL player?
Considering that Davies, Buchanan, Bombito, Cornelius, Koné, Larin, Oluwasaeyi, JRR, Johnston all plied their trade first in MLS before moving to Europe.
And only Pepple went from here to Europe "successfully" that I can think of? Edit: Poku was doing well before injury as well.
And judging by the number of CPL players that went to Europe only to come back here shortly after...
Should players not be encouraged to get red hot in the CPL in the hopes of earning MLS contracts before moving on to Europe?
There was a typo in the sheet in how I was aggregating each team's weekly score to sum up the overall.
This is the fixed overall.
Based on the last two matches of this current week 5;
- Forge lived up to top spot.
- Inter Toronto got in trouble and REALLY turned things around.
- Ottleti and the Wanderers slipped up REALLY badly.
- Sartini should start looking for ballers.
- Mejia, ". . . Now, all the teams around the league accept that we are better than them . . ."
