“How old is she?”

My baby is almost 4 months old, almost one month corrected. So she’s the size of a newborn and looks just like a newborn.

We’ve been taking her out more lately and of course strangers see her and want to make small talk. But it’s a more complicated answer than they were expecting! I don’t mind explaining but sometimes I feel weird saying she’s almost 4 months.

Do you explain that your baby was a preemie or do you just say their corrected age?

Personality

Do you think there’s certain personalities that thrive with many kids and others that can’t handle it?

I’m asking because I think some aspects of my personality lend itself quite well to having a large family.

For example:

- I’m an optimist. I always tend to assume that things will work out somehow.

- I’m pretty type B. I don’t really get too stressed, anxious, or angry.

- Mess and noise don’t bother me too much.

Anyone else like me? Or are you the opposite and still thrive with a large family?

Excuse me?? Wtf is the point of putting the cap on if it doesn’t stop the milk from pouring out? Even worse, it spills out the edge of the cap, wasting the milk. This happened to me over the weekend and I was crashing out.

My preemie came home a couple days ago after 3 months in the NICU 🎉 So we’re getting used to having a just-turned 4-year-old, a 22 month old and newborn!

You just have to laugh at the end of the day 😂

Her name is Matilda, meaning “strength in battle.” She fought so hard and hit every milestone. Our journey felt like a marathon and there were days where I felt like I couldn’t possibly do it for one more day. And then I got up the next morning and kept doing it. Still, we were very blessed - she had no medical complications and at this point she’s pretty much a normal baby. Yesterday we finally got to take her home.

Her big sisters are obsessed with her. She’s so lucky to have them. I can’t wait to show her the world!
