Dismantling Sindh's Feudal System

The recent Mir Raza case, and a very similar case of Shahzeb Khan, are both committed by Sindhi feudal lords (allegedly in Mir Raza's case) who believe they are above the law because the system protects them and those like them.

This class of feudal lords has also been exploiting regular Sindhis for over a century now. Each generation is worst than the last.

These are the descendents of the people who supported the British in their conquest of Sindh. They are not one of us.

Sindh's feudal system is a relic of our colonial past. A relic that continues to haunt our society today. A society can never be truly equal when these power structures exist and continue to suppress the ordinary Sindhi today.

From Fanon, we know that the British wanted to create and leave behind a class of people who looked exactly like us but acted exactly like them. This sinister and evil class of people continues to benefit from extractive colonial policies and continues to create terror in our society today.

With Mir Raza protests, we need to start protesting to dismantle this system of governance. We need to embark on a mission to make reparations. We cannot stop exploitation as long as this system continues to exist.

Getting really tired of InDrive and Yango incidents!!!

Someone I know almost got abducted in an InDrive. The kind of incidents on these platforms have been very scary. Especially for women travelling alone.

So I have decided to take matters into my own hands. I have been toying with this idea for a while - a searchable data base of reported incidents in ride-hailing services. You search the number-plate and check if the car you are about to get into has been flagged.

This means you have the information and agency to decide not to get into a car.

How does it work?

The way it works is that people report their own incidents on the 'report experience' tab. This goes into a review process where we will check the number plate against Sindh's car/bike registry. We will then publish the report. If the number plate is searched by anyone else, it will show up.

The craziest part is that I went public with it only a few days ago and have received FIFTEEN reports already.

I am encouraging all of you to retroactively share any incident you have had on this site so that it is viewable to others.
