Hypervolt’s 3 Year Warranty Is A Con - Avoid

They will invalidate it if anyone but their installer touch’s any of the install (even a local qualified electrician). Fine - but the gotcha is that their “approved installers” won’t stand by the CRA requirements for warranty on electrical installations and insist their work is only covered for a year, so want £160 to even look at the fault after the first year - even though all components of the install (consumer unit, charger, etc) have a 3 year manufacturer warranty.

And Hypervolt think this is fine.

Their chargers are ok, but I’d never use them again because their warranty behaviour is verging on criminal (and it’s a very expensive item to be failing after a year).

Brighton Cab Drivers Ripping-off Passengers

Coming back from London last night I picked up a cab home from the station. It was late, so I expected a late (midnight-6am) surcharge.

Looking what was on the meter before the guy had even pulled away though, the driver had slapped the 4-8 passenger surcharge on (I was alone), which is a few quid more than the single passenger.

I should have been more aware, but it was late & I was sleepy so didn’t argue at the time.

Question: as I don’t take cabs often, how common is this scam in town these days?

Is it just me thinks this is out of order ?

Opinion: Public ground anchors are for everyone, not for some entitled so-n-so to reserve just for them by leaving their chain in place 24/7.

Or am I just a grumpy old git?

Edit: on balance, opinion seems to be I am indeed a grumpy old git - I can live with that 🤣
