My 40th bday is coming up in a couple of weeks and my wife started the fight that we always have about my birthday. She asked me what I wanted and what I wanted to do for it.

I already took us on a trip in early June to celebrate my birthday because I didn't wanna go to the smokey mountains at the end of July when it would be miserable. I assumed that us doing that was everything we're doing for my birthday.

Now she's mad again that I told her there's nothing I want for it. I had the same argument with my parents also.

I'm a 40 year old man I don't need any gifts. Anything I want I can literally just go buy myself.

Last night I even broke down and told my wife she can pre-order GTA 6 for me if she's so determined to get me something and apparently that wasn't a good enough suggestion either.

AITH for not wanting/expecting gifts or am I correct that they are overreacting over a whole lot of nothing.

Edit: I should clarify that we are gonna go out to eat. I love a free dinner. I just specifically do not need or want any physical gifts. I wouldn't turn anything down but there is nothing I want.

When does it open back up does anyone know?
