How to endeavor into recording our jam sessions for an absolute beginner

@ MODS: I am attentive to rule 9. My intention is a broad question, to get hints for further research on my own. I hope to not get a ban from a misunderstanding.

I play in a small band, my good mate, a singer songwriter with a guitar and some pedals, and me with an assortment of tiny electronic gizmos, synths, loopers, sequencers and effect boxes, thrown together ad hoc in different configurations.

We meet weekly in a jam space with all sorts of equipment there, mixer, amps, speakers, all sorts of stuff I don't know about, we just plug in and play. Some other bands using the space know the gear much better.

I record our jam sessions and rehearsals by hanging an old Zoom H1 handy recorder from the ceiling. I wish to change it up a notch, and I am thinking I want some sort of multichannel/-track recording going on. Especially I would love some more clean recordings of my own synth and electronics, to somehow combine with the room sound. Perhaps even records my different sources separately, as I normally just go through a tiny passive 4ch stereo mixer from temu. I would also like to separate my mate's guitar and his singing, because all our levels are always a complete mess and he either drowns or overtake and we don't notice while playing, but the recording is almost painful when it's bad.

I don't know how to go about it.

I thought I could perhaps just buy a handful of the cheapest audio recorders (like dicaphones) with line in I could find, but I don't know if there even are line out to pick up. Neither do I know if it is a complete illusion to think that the signals are anywhere near what we hear in the room, because the amps and speakers plays such a big part. I know some of the guitar sound we are happy about comes from the specific amp on top of the speaker, so that one usually doesn't even go through the mixer.

With a previous band constellation, we had a mate come help of with recording an EP, and he brought a specific multichannel audiointerface and a macbook of sorts, and he mic'd up some of the speakers. Maybe I should look into mic'ing up speakers instead? Though still I would be looking at some sort of multichannel/track recording gear.

I am not a millionaire, I can't afford a complete studio, and nor do I expect to get one without spending on it, ofcourse. But I am looking for some way to get started. I like small gear, portable gear, somewhat cheap gear, which is why I think about small recorders, but if I could put a last gen iPad to a multichannel audio interface and that would open a whole new world for me of mixing and producing, I can probably shell out for it.

Anyway, I very much welcome any tips, hints on research topics, shared experiences or even discouraging comments on this subject, and appreciate your time, guys.

stock firmware updated?

I just got my X4, loving it, got some of my epubs over to it, and it was very easy, there's an android app and they just connect effortlessly and eases the setup.

Then I looked up the differences between the stock firmware and crosspoint, and because I saw a bunch of videos and read a gazillion posts about all of this, I went ahead and just updated the firmware to crosspoint. This is nice, I have some epubs that renders much nicer now. All my epubs are created by the Einkbro android browser, that can create epub from webpages.

But, I wonder about a thing, because the stock firmware gets a lot of heat about what it cant do. But what I saw briefly within that half an hour before flashing, was actually not that bad. It didn't require usb for transfer, and it wasn't that clunky.

Unfortunately I neglected to take a backup, so appearently I can't get the original back, it just all went to quick and easy, the flashing proces, that I forgot. But now I have a tiny inch of regret not giving the stock firmware a chance, assuming it was an updated version I saw, that is different from what people are talking about.

Is that silly? Should I just marvel over Crosspoint and not look back? I already like Crosspoint a lot as just within a few minutes I was able to read in landscape, and as mentioned, my epubs all render correctly, and I think perhaps it is also snappier. So no full regret. But I was just wondering... anyone knows the newest stock firmware, if perhaps that was what I had, and can assure me I did right in just jumping right into flashing?

After all it went well. Now I'm just left with an Xteink account and app I ain't using.

Sorry for the big post with a small question. Y'all know the excitement of getting a new gorgeous thing like the X4 and already having lurked in the community and watched 100 videos, one gets a little lightheaded and reaches out blindly. Forgive me, friends.

Lyrics to 'Päivi' by Kätfish

Hey. My wife is from Finland but we live in Denmark and we just discovered the band Kätfish and this song they named after her.

Or maybe just coincidence? 🤔

Anyway, the fun part is, perhaps from living here so many years, she actually has problems understand what they are singing/rapping, which we both find very funny. We haven't been able to find the lyrics anywhere, does anyone have any idea where we could check them out? She speaks and write Finnish fluently of course, but after a couple of decades abroad she has lost touch with the coolest lingo, as such.

Gamle rammesave værd at gemme?

C21 in an apartment, maybe extender battery does the trick?

I am really hooked on getting this C21 gravel bike, but I live in an apartment and can't easily charge it every day. Daily commute is around 20 km city traffic in total, and I am wondering if it means I need to charge every night?

And since I can't charge anywhere, does the extender battery help with that? Can I use that, clip it off to bring it in, and never charge the internal battery? Do I even need the internal battery at that point? Could I perhaps just take it out and only hook up external battery?
