Back up headphone recommendations

I know this is an AirPods Max sub but I feel like I’ve found my crew so I’m going to ask this here. I bought my APM 2 a month ago and I’m loving them, no complaints at all. I planned to take them everywhere with me - work commute to and from London and on holiday. Then I got them (and the invoice) and now I just want to keep them safely at home for use on the Mac and Apple TV given the price I paid 😂. The anxiety I’d have wearing them out worried about them getting swiped on the train.

So now I’m looking for some headphones that I can use exclusively for my commute. I’m not after something super expensive like the APM, but obviously adequate sound quality and comfort. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Channel surfing simulation - A project I've built

I was talking to my younger nephew about 9/11 a few days ago and he asked where I was and how I stayed up to date with information when the attacks occured. He's only ever known a world with social media so having to rely on the TV for information sounds alien to him (I didn't have internet access until a few months after). It got me thinking I wanted to demonstrate what it was like for me and so many others watching that day, so I created this web app.

It's not perfect, its quite simple but I'd quite like to build on it so any recommended network coverage to add would be great.

Apologies if this breaks any of the sub rules.

Do I lose much in SQ using Spotify over Apple Music?

I've just caved in and bought a pair as my Anker Soundcore Q35's died after 3 years of use and I've been itching for an upgrade for a while. I get Spotify Premium for free as a perk at work, so for this reason I've never switched to Apple Music exclusively despite being deep in the Apple ecosystem.

Apologies if this sounds like a silly thing to ask but given I've heard a lot of people say Apple Music sounds great with these, is there a substantial dip in sound quality by using Spotify instead? I've heard comments from audiophiles that Apple has to do some re-encoding when Spotify is used. Any truth in this?

Sky Stream users - how much data does it chomp through?

I know Sky’s broadband packages are all truly unlimited now, as with most ISPs I’d imagine. But I noticed after just 3 weeks of having Sky Stream, my data usage is almost 3TB. Does that sound about right? We use it in the living room on the main set and everything we watch is HD, I don’t pay for the UHD pack.
