Pocket Pool - Hombody (Egg Punk, Lo-Fi) + Free Codes

This is my frist EP under the name Pocket Pool called Homebody, inspired by bands like The Coneheads, Thee Oh Sees (especially their early stuff), Powerplant, R.M.F.C., Tee Vee Repairmann and Snõõper, and the lofi recording ethos of musicians like Guided By Voices, R.Steve Moore and Sharp Pins.

Everything is directly recorded into a Tascam DP008 8-Track PortaStudio: guitar and bass played through homemade guitar pedals, vocals through a harmonica microphone, drum computer samples and last but not least a 20 euro thrift store keytar that I put through a chorus pedal to get synth sounds. The result is six minutes of quirky punk, which I hope you enjoy!

I first released this EP in April this year, and I'm currently working on new material. I still have a couple of codes left over, which you can claim on https://pocketpool.bandcamp.com/yum.

Fatigues with a lower rise

I've recently found some decently cheap secondhand fatigues made by Ralph Lauren online and decided to try them. But damn, a 34,5 cm (13,6 inch) front rise is way too much for me, and the even longer back rise just makes it look like I have the longest ass ever (which is pretty bad, since I already have a flat ass to begin with). It sucks, because I really like the look of fatigues, especially reverse sateen ones.

Are there brands that make fatigues with a slightly lower rise (like a nice midrise, akin to a pair of 50s or 60s Levi's)? And are there specific recommendations that I should look out for?

It's been a month since I released my first project under the name Pocket Pool called Homebody, inspired by bands like The Coneheads, Powerplant, R.M.F.C., Tee Vee Repairmann and Snõõper and the lofi recording ethos of musicians like Guided By Voices, R.Steve Moore and Sharp Pins.

Low budget and lo-fi, just the way I like it. :)

Over 500 plays!

Holy shit, I reached over 500 plays a couple of days ago. I didn't even think anyone wanted to listen to my music.

Just wanted to share because it makes me very happy!

I’m a frequent user of RateYourMusic and mainly use it to discover new niche music by filtering genres and descriptors, then building charts from those filters. It’s been a really effective way for me to find artists and albums I wouldn’t come across otherwise.

Because I rely so much on this method, I assume others do too. That’s why I’d love for my own music to be discoverable in the same way. I’ve uploaded my release information, but I’m having trouble getting my genres and descriptors approved. It’s a bit frustrating, since I feel like this is a great way for people to discover my music.

Does anyone have experience with getting genres or descriptors approved on RYM?
