We've been getting forewarning about this for weeks but I'm sure some people are still freaking out

I've been wanting to go to things like sapphic parties or club events, but every time I think about it I look at myself and into my wardrobe and I talk myself out of it figuring nobody wants to see my arm fat or belly rolls. I look at what other people are wearing in event galleries, but most of them aren't my size and the ones who are don't tend to dress masc.

I live in jeans, t-shirts, and flannels. I never really learned how to put together an outfit. I'm about 5'4" and a size 20ish, and I feel like there's no clothes that exist where I can look good and also not like a suburban dad at a bbq.

Has anyone overcome this kind of insecurity, and does anyone have recommendations for what kind of outfits I could put together? I'm not in the US so probably more general advice than specific brands or stores.
