Keidean Coleman

The noise is increasing around this guy, I would massively rate getting him considering he probably wins the Norm Smith in 2023 if the Lions win, genuine star player with some bad luck and a great field kick.

The talk is a first round draft pick though. Pretty keen to keep those but if it’s for a future 1st rounder then I actually don’t mind the move due to Tassie cooking the next couple of years in the draft.

What are our thoughts?

Your hot takes from our season this year?

Unfortunately it feels like the dust won’t settle on our season for a while with everything that’s gone on re: trade rumours, retirements, Pendles, etc. but what are your hot takes from this season going into next season?

Mine is I think McRae coached out of his skin this year in terms of game-plan, but I feel like we need to start trying players in alternative positions to get the most out of them next year.

Houston clearly needs to find a more suitable position (albeit injuries around him didn’t help) and I think De Goey could light up a permanent forward position. Some smart player utilisation could really do wonders for our season next year IMO.

What are your hot takes??

Some projects completed this year!

Nashville Tele Partscaster with Tex Mex pickups and flamed maple neck. Gretsch-flavoured Thinline Tele Partscaster with a Squier classic vibe 50s neck. And an old Squier Bullet Strat with custom wound 50s/60s hybrid sounding pickups by a local guy. Other mods done across them all throughout the process too!

Can’t get enough of project guitars and this year feels like I’ve been doing more than ever!

Dan Houston

Still so much noise around him and he clearly isn’t fitting in how all parties would’ve hoped at this stage. I still think he’s worth keeping because if we can find his best again he’s so good, but St. Kilda keeps getting linked with him. Is there a world where we take a punt on Max King in a swap with Houston? It’s not uncommon for injury riddled players to find a new lease on their career after moving club and he fills a hole in the list. Unfortunately the contract might be costly, but sounds like we have a decent warchest now.

I don’t imagine the saints would take a straight swap either, but surely it’s worth a try if the Dan Houston noise has any weight behind it?

What seasons are considered anomalies within fanbases?

Looking back on 2021, it’s an odd blip in the context of that period of time for Collingwood. 2nd last between fairly strong and consistent finals appearances is a weird anomaly.

West Coast finishing bottom in 2010 is also a weird, especially considering the jump up ladder after that. That season is actually what inspired this post.

What’s your club’s anomaly season?

Flying domestically with a guitar, advice on a hardcase?

I’m about to fly interstate (in Australia) with a guitar and don’t have a good hard case for it. Obviously step one is getting a good case! I’m just struggling to figure out what the best option is?
So far these are the ones that seem readily available and sturdy enough, will they do the job protecting a guitar when I might fly once or twice a year with a guitar domestically at most?

Any advice or hardcase recommendations are appreciated! Thanks 😊
