Down ₹2.42L on October Futures. Should I roll over or cut my losses?

Down ₹2.42L on October Futures. Should I roll over or cut my losses?

I am currently sitting on a loss of ₹2,42,890 across four October Futures positions: M&M, ICICIBANK, COFORGE, and HDFCBANK.

This loss basically wipes out the ₹2,80,000 profit I made via futures over the last 6 months. I can bear to lose that profit, but I only have about ₹40,000 of buffer left before I start losing my core capital.

I do not want to realize this permanent loss. I am thinking of rolling these positions over to November contracts and doing this monthly until the market recovers.

My specific questions for the sub:

• Is a monthly rollover strategy a decent decision here given my tight buffer?

• Am I risking a total account blow-up from daily MTM pressure if the market drops further?

• Should I roll over, or should I just accept the loss and exit now?

• If I have to trim my leverage portfolio to survive, which positions should I cut first?

Am I overpaying for a 1,000 sq ft plot in ST Bed, Koramangala at ₹3.5 Cr?

https://preview.redd.it/bu5bt4fyqohh1.png?width=1690&format=png&auto=webp&s=c6b490252bcdb7f632893a06ac1ab960f701e9ea

I'm considering buying a 1,000 sq ft plot in ST Bed, Koramangala for ₹3.5 Cr, and my main question is:

How much, if at all, am I overpaying at this price?

Here's the math:

  • Plot: 1,000 sq ft
  • Land cost: ₹3.5 Cr
  • FAR: ~2 (as I understand it)
  • Superbuilt area: ~2,000 sq ft
  • Construction: ~₹80 lakh
  • Total investment : ~₹4.5 Cr (including overheads)

The goal is to build the most profitable property (rental units, builder floors, etc.). Nearby apartments sell for around ₹18k/sq ft (Prestige projects are higher).

Is this land price reasonable, or is it overpriced? If overpriced, what would be a fair value?

I’m confused about the selling price of the land.

At the current rate, if I construct and sell, I can sell for ₹18k/sq ft, which would be ₹3.9cr.

Why are sellers charging so much in ST bed at this price?

The only way to make more than ₹4.5cr is to build illegal construction, i.e., more than 2 FAR.

Am I missing something?

I’d appreciate insights from people familiar with ST Bed, Koramangala, or who’ve bought and built in Bangalore.

Our “Sakht Launda” is finally getting married. Now I’m looking for a flatmate in Central Bangalore.

Every friend group has that one guy who says, "Bhai, main toh shaadi 30 ke pehele nahi karne wala."

Fir kya hua? humara Sakht Launda Pighal Gaya...

Before we knew it, FIFA nights had turned into wedding shopping and he was packing his bags and getting ready to moving out.

Now I'm left with a fully furnished 3.5 BHK in Central Bangalore that suddenly feels a lot bigger than it used to.

So... applications are now open for flatmates.

TL;DR

🛏️ 1 private bedrooms

📅 Move-in: August

💰 Rent: ~₹32-40k per room

💸 Deposit: ₹1.7L

🚫 Brokerage: What's that?

📺 We don't believe in setup costs. Just come with an open heart and pitch in whatever you already have.

📍 Embassy Habitat: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NjTEZiAZ1hSK5azU8

Stone's throw from MG Road, Lavelle Road, Cunningham Road, Orion Mall and Thirtha. (If you're wondering "What's Thirtha?"... congratulations, you have weekend plans now.)

WHY WE'VE LOVED LIVING HERE

☀️ The flat has more natural light than most influencer reels.

🏞️ Three balconies. Because one balcony is never enough when Bangalore weather decides to be generous.

🏊 Gated society with everything you'd actually use:
Gym • Swimming Pool • Tennis Court • Squash Court • Clubhouse • Convenience Store

⚡ Power cuts? We genuinely don't remember the last one.

🍛 We have an amazing North Indian cook who can do everything from comfort food to healthy meals. Fair warning: your Swiggy One membership may start questioning its existence.

ABOUT ME

I'm in consulting, which means my working hours occasionally have a personality of their own.

Outside work, I'm usually up for board games, movie nights, trying new restaurants and random conversations. Equally happy to respect your personal space if that's your vibe.

One small disclaimer: if you know how to hold a tennis racquet and get the ball over the net, I will relentlessly convince you to come play lawn tennis. Doesn't matter if you've just had lunch, are about to have lunch, or are emotionally unavailable for cardio—you'll receive the "Bhai, tennis?" message anyway. 🎾

We are just looking for someone who's easygoing, clean, respectful, and is happy to contribute to making the house feel like home.

If you enjoy the occasional board game, movie night, road trip or conversations that go beyond "Hey bro, all good?", we'll probably get along just fine.

Drop me a DM, and I'll happily show you the place. 🍻
