Sunny evening pizzas on the Gozney.

I'm trying to get better on the Arc XL after ripping holes in a few pizzas.

These were Julian Sisofo's Puffy Poolish Neapolitan recipe. Pepperoni and Prosciutto Cotto and Anchovies and black olives.

Preheated the Gozney for 40 minutes and aimed to launch at about 430ºc. tried some with turning it off for a minute the on low and some just turning to low. Did much better this time but still managed to nick a hole in one but saved it by getting it out with a solid peel. Crusts didn't rise as much as usual for some reason.

Help with a shoulder rig that can easily transition to gimbal or tripod.

I'm wanting to build a gimbal, shoulder-mount and tripod setup and am looking for a way to use the same base camera on all 3.

Currently have a couple of A7IV's but planning to get an FX soon.

At the moment I have a simple handheld rig with a Smallrig cage and the DJI Ronin RS5 and will be getting a Sachtler Tripod and head.

I guess i need a baseplate/rods that will fit onto a VCT plate and has a quick release to slide the camera out sideways to put on the gimbal?

I'm using Sony GM at the moment and will be looking at follow focus set-ups in the future.

Love the Shape shoulder rigs!

NKD Shiro Kamo Tora Damascus and Akuma Bunkas 186mm

I fancied trying a Nakiri or something taller than my current knives and found these Bunkas from Shiro Kamo.

The Akuma is Aogami Super (HRC 64-65) clad in stainless. This is a gift for my good friend and will be his first proper japanese knife.

The Tora is iron clad Aogami #2 (63-64 HRC) as I really fancy a fully reactive knife. My only other is a Yoshikane petty.

The heel heights are 56/57mm, so quite tall and i think i'm going to like that. I've heard lots of good things about Shiro Kamo being great quality for the price and OOTB I'm very impressed with the finish, especially the Tora. The only issue is that there is a slight upturn at the tip on the Tora but i imagine i can deal with that when i first sharpen it.

I'm impressed with how how light they are and how thin the slightly convex grind is.

SmallRig carbon Tribex or Sachtler Ace or Aktiv with flowtech 75 for A7IV/FX3 rig?

Looking to get my first dedicated video tripod after using a Gitzo GT3543LS.

Current camera is an A7IV and will be getting an FX3 or its replacement. Likely to have cage, monitor, mics etc on the rig.

I know the Sachtler is a forever tripod but is it overkill?

Shooting a mix of talking head and outdoors.

Cleancut to the UK. Getting charged 30% - thought JKK were exempt from import charges?

Ordered a couple of knives from Cleancut to the UK. Just had an email from UPS that Government charges will be 30%. I was under the impression that JKK were exempt from import charges and I would have to only pay VAT.

Am I wrong?

Best Sony wide zoom for Ronin RS5?

I'm looking to get the DJI Ronin RS5 and Tilta ring hoping it will be able to comfortably handle a Sony A7IV/FX3 with 24-70 2.8 GMII.

I'd also like a wide option beyond my 20mm 1.8 G. Also have the 35GM and 50GM 1.4.

Is the 16-35 f3 PZ still one of the better options? Especially over the 16-25 2.8 G?

Will be shooting documentary and talking heads alongside a tripod or shoulder rig.

Warning about buying from smokerig.co.uk

Just a heads up for anyone thinking about order a plancha or pizza steel from Smokerig. I placed an order for over £200 on 9th May. I've received nothing and they won't respond to emails.

It's a shame as I bought a pizza steel from them back in 2024 that has been great.

Looking to get into videography. Is my current A7IV good enough or would an FX3 or A7IV be better?

My company is looking to start doing some filmed content - mostly for a YT channel - and I'm looking to learn how. We've had Sony Alpha's from the A7s through to the A7IV. Mostly using them for stills and live video events, occasional filming but I don't really know what I'm doing too much but will put in the work to learn. My good friend is a Film&TV DP.

We have a good range of Sony G/GM and Sigma Art & contemporary glass.

I'm planning on 2 set-ups, one hand-held and one with a Ronin. Going for a cinematic look.

I'm not looking for camera buying advice, just wondering if my current A7IV is good enough or would an FX3 in 2026 be markedly better?

Any guidance appreciated.

Inline connectors for Led strip to receiver?

I'm just wondering if there is a specific 5-way connector for this? Or do i just solder them together and wrap in tape or silicone them? Any advice? I've had a good look but couldn't find anything. It's in a bathroom. I'm in the UK.

Assume i can connect both strips to the receiver?

I'm using an Arc LED Universal 12-24V IP67 4 Channel Receiver and a Ecopac 60W IP67 Rated 24V LED Driver. Link

The 2 Led strips are 1.5M - 24V 18W 4-IN-1 IP20RGBW in an aluminium channel mounted on the underside of the countertop. Link

I thinking of getting a riser in order to use my Go Anywhere more for quick grills like kebabs etc rather than firing up the Kamado or kettle.

Would you recommend the 100mm or 200mm riser? I know the 200mm would be good for a rotisserie but i don't know if id get one for the GA over buying a Joetisserie. Seems like the 100mm would work well but the 200mm might be better for heat control if i'm covering the bed with hot coals. Would love to hear any opinions or see any action photos.

I'd be buying from Smokerig in the UK.

The welds have failed on the Kick Ash basket for my Big Joe II.

Any advice on a replacement? I like the look of the KJ one with the central divider. Is it removable?

Thanks
