Breaking out the slab
So I went through this morning with a brim and made cobweb cotton candy. Then I spent the rest of the day breaking up the slab into manageable pieces.

Well, I had the junk guys come over this morning and haul all the crap out of this guy’s basement. Gonna fire up my jackhammer and get rid of all the floor that is under the mud. I’ll replace all these silly columns. Set it up with a drainage system and a vapor barrier and pump in a new slab.
Hey, so I was at this house this morning and they have a pretty neat solution for a hidden door for basement access. What I really liked is how simple it is.
So some of y’all have expressed concern about this wooden garage floor I’ve been working on. So here is what the underside looks like 12 inch beams 3 feet on center. This was built in 1946 so cars have been parking on it for a while.
So I went with the put a new layer over the floor option. Patched all seems with a flexible epoxy mortar. Gonna grind all the joints today to flatten them out and then put a quarter inch layer of boxy motor over the whole floor.
Wood garage floor with room underneath. What would you do here? Previous owner glued ice and water shield but still leaking into room underneath
