Is this normal?, or does this happen to anyone else?

Hi everyone, I hope you can help me with this problem. Before getting this Apple Watch Series 4, my iPhone tracked my daily steps, especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays when I go to university. From Monday to Friday, I also do a workout routine, and it would normally track my distance and calculate calories burned. Now that I use the Apple Watch with Workout, I wear the watch every time I exercise, but I don't wear it to university. But here's the problem: my iPhone no longer tracks my steps or distance on Wednesdays and Thursdays like it used to. I understand it should add them to the Move rings, but it only shows them in the Steps section of Health, and the actual calories burned for the day aren't being calculated. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks in advance.
