I started playing Warhammer 40K about three weeks ago, and there’s a doubles tournament at my local store this Saturday and someone needed a partner. So I’m going to my first ever tournament in less than a week.

I’m playing Tzeentch Daemons, and I have a few questions I’d really appreciate some help with before the tournament:

1. How does the Scintillating Legion detachment work in a doubles game? who gets the flex tokens?
2. List building – I currently own the Warpflame Cavalcade box and a Daemon Prince with Wings. I’m not really sure what kind of list I should be bringing for a doubles tournament. I’m also completely fine with buying a few more models if there are some good additions that would make sense with what I already own.
3. Deep Strike – As far as I understand, Daemons have Deep Strike. If I use a Stratagem/ability that puts a unit into Reserves, can I then bring that unit onto the battlefield in a later turn using Deep Strike? Or am I misunderstanding how the interaction works?
4. Shooting and cover – I’m still not 100% clear on how this works. For example, if I have a unit behind a wall and one model is positioned in front of the wall, can the whole unit shoot if that one model has line of sight, or can only the model that can actually see the enemy shoot? And how exactly does cover work in this situation?

Any other advice for a complete beginner going into their first doubles tournament would also be very appreciated!

I started the hobby about 3 weeks ago and went with the Warpflame Cavalcade Battleforce as my starting point, along with a Winged Daemon Prince.

I've been playing around 1–2 games of 1,000 points per week, and I'm finally starting to get a feel for the rules and how the army plays. I'm now thinking about expanding to 2,000 points, but I'm not really sure what the best way to go about it is.
I haven't seen many Tzeentch combo boxes/battleforces available, so my current idea is to try to find another Warpflame Cavalcade, although I imagine that might be pretty difficult.

what would you recommend adding to get from roughly 1k → 2k?

I'm looking to get into Warhammer 40K, and I really love the look and theme of Tzeentch Daemons. As a completely new player, what's the best way to start collecting them?
From what I've heard (and I may be mistaken), 11th edition has just launched, and most factions will probably get a new Combat Patrol or starter box at some point. I'd rather not wait that long, though.
If I want to start buying models now, what would you recommend picking up first? I’m looking for something that can serve as a solid foundation for expanding into a larger army later on.
