So in case anyone is interested, I tried out the new KDP Groundwood paper option.

Note: Both books printed in Poland

Very personal con: It makes the book more floppy, and I'm not a big fan of floppy books, but many people seem to prefer them.

Probably a result of that floppiness: The pages don't lie down as flat as the Cream paper, it's wavier from the side.

Pros:

Color: It's noticably more yellow/beige than the Cream paper, which is a big improvement. Warmer and friendlier.

Texture and feel: Feels much better, like a real paperback. I was always mostly satisfied with the KDP print quality, but it always felt "off", noticably different than trad books. With the Groundwood paper it lost a bit of that slightly sterile feel that said "print on demand".

Overall I'm quite happy with the results and I'll probably switch to the new paper.

Hey, I started using mfp a couple weeks ago and it was mostly fine once I learned the slightly counter-intuitive interface.

But with the update from a couple days ago, everything has gotten so much worse...

Instead of seeing at a glance what my calories and my exercise are, I have to look it up way further down, but that's something I can live with (although it's not good)

But I can't find the copy&paste function anymore. Yes I can copy a whole meal to another day, but I can no longer SELECT INDIVIDUAL ITEMS to copy to another day.

Am I missing something? Is it hidden somewhere else?

Seriously considering trying another app, because it changed from "usable" to "very awkwardly usable"

Ich bemühe mich gerade um einen Glasfaser-Anschluss bei meiner alten Mutter und hab da so ein paar Fragen. Natürlich werde ich vorher auch bei 1und1 anrufen und einige Dinge klären, aber wäre besser vorbereitet zu sein...

1und1 wirft auf jeden Fall ständig Prospekte ein und bietet bei Prüfung auf der Website einen Anschluss zwischen jetzt und Januar 2027.

Bei der Telekom steht bei Prüfung, dass der Ausbau noch nicht geplant ist.

(Das ganze ist in einem kleinen bayrischen Kaff. Bevor meine Mutter die Wohnung gekauft hat, wurde anscheinend irgendwas mit Glasfaser gemacht, in der Wohnung befindet sich ein kleines Glasfaser-Kästchen neben der Wohnungstür, es weiß allerdings niemand, was es damit auf sich hat, einzige Info ist, dass die Firma wohl mittendrin pleite gegangen ist - ob das weitergehend verkabelt ist, ist unbekannt)

Falls es Sinn macht, bei 1und1 zu bestellen, macht der übergangsweise DSL16 Anschluss auch Sinn?

(Von der Geschwindigkeit ist vor Ort sowieso nicht mehr als DSL 3000, also 3Mbit erreichbar - kein Scherz.)

Halten sie einen dann eher hin, weil sie ja Geld bekommen, oder macht das für einen Ausbau keinen Unterschied?

Billiger als der momentane DSL Anschluss wäre es mit 35 Euro incl Router auf jeden Fall.

...und gibt's sonst noch etwas, was ich bedenken muss?

So apparently the 8KX PC freeze issue is fixed. I installed the latest drivers and it works. (3080Ti, Win 10)

But then I tried to play Arizona Sunshine 2 (which worked before) and I'm having double vision, like completely different images in each eye. (I could see the menu in both eyes but completely wrong, not sure how to describe it. Maybe like when you mistakenly use top/bottom mode for a left/right 3D video) Steam Menu works fine, loaded up the Valve VR Lab, also works fine.

Checked the parallel reproduction compatibility option in Pimax Play (latest version I think) and it was checked as it should be. Unchecked it, no difference. Will try more games another time (it's too hot for long PC times in Germany rn) but maybe someone has already encountered and fixed something like that?

I can't find any working link to the font (only a zip with more than a thousand individual.svg files), does anyone still have it and is able to share it?

(Assuming the distribution is allowed, but since it was at one point freely available, I would think so)
