When I started comercial rafting we put a washer on either side of the oar tower(friction spots) i was told "we do this because its how we do it" on a steel frame. However now most oar towers come with plastic bushings, in my mind potentially ending the need for the washers. So I guess 2 questions.

1. Do Oar towers with plastic bushings not need washers?

2. Has anyone ever worn out the plastic bushings?

Or have I been missing the point the whole time?

I think i need to open my stance a bunch and keep my knees bent. I'm goofy footed so I think I need to switch the side I paddle on too. Any other tips right now?

I had my first real big water SUP adventure yesterday. It was rough, I wonder what rivers or rapid sections are people actually running that have the most flow?

Can anyone tell me about or show me a rapid where the largest and most obvious V in a rapid is actually the wrong run? I'm not talking about the nuances of left side right side of the V or there might be a better hit here or here. I'm talking about an actual dangerous route.

What is everyone's favorite SUP shoe for whitewater? I'm looking for something that will be great for Drysuits and skin to the wind.
