Is this a legitimate business model on Google Play?

Hi everyone,

I recently got approached by someone on LinkedIn for a Flutter developer role. They said they want me to build 4–5 very simple mini apps per day using AI. Examples are things like calculators, Tic-Tac-Toe, unit converters, etc., and each app should take around an hour to build.

They offered me PKR 35,000/month and said they would pay me weekly. They also mentioned that they upload all of these apps to the Google Play Store.

What confuses me is that the apps are extremely simple and, from what I can tell, they don't contain ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.

I'm trying to understand:

How can someone make money from publishing dozens or hundreds of these simple apps if they have no monetization?

Is there a common business model I'm not aware of?

Has anyone here worked for someone doing this?

Does this sound legitimate, or are there any red flags I should watch out for before accepting the job?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with experience in Play Store publishing or app businesses. Thanks!

I'd be happy to test your app in return.

How to join:

Using the Google account on your Android phone, first join this Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/filcontesters/about

Then install the app from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.filcon.app

Please keep the app installed and, if possible, open and use it for a few minutes each day during the testing period.
