Training under the hot sun

It is a hot day, but I finally had an opportunity to train outdoors. Worked on draw time and shoting from cover. Training is a humbling experience.

Don't wear black skinny jeans in 99f weather.

Intro to long range and an expensive hobby.

Hello,

I am a total noob to long range here (kind of still a noob to ARs, handguns). I watched Youtube videos of you guys doing PRS competition and just shooting long range in general, and it looked cool as hell. So I wanted to get in on this.

First of all, this is a super expensive hobby lol. I got a Ruger American Ranch Gen 2 in 5.56 to start. I only have access to a 100 yard range (my backyard) in my area, so I figured I'll start with this rifle and caliber. I have some steel targets down range, and a couple step ladders so I figured I'd do some training.

This is probably the most fun ive ever had shooting, and I wish there was a range closer to me thats further than 100 yards. Hope to own a better rifle and caliber someday (looking at your Bergara).

Approaching 1k rounds. No malfunctions so far.

Wiped the factory oil, lubed once, and off she goes.

I hate to say it, but I enjoy shooting the Canik Prime more than my Glock 19.5 (which is my very first gun, several thousand rounds). It's the awesome ergonomics and trigger that make the Prime a delight to shoot.

Glock 19 will always have a special place in my heart, but the Canik Prime will be my everyday carry now.

Canik Prime TLR 7X sub question

Hi all,

Sorry if this question gets asked repeatedly, but I couldn't find it on this sub after searching for a while.

My weapon light doesn't flush all the way back on my Prime. It's a TRL 7x sub with a 1913 adapter #5 (as seen on pics). Do I need a different adapter or rail?

Thanks.

Canik Mete Prime 200 hundred rounds today.

3-10 yard shooting. I dont have a holster yet, so I was shooting low ready.

I was getting frustrated with my shots going low right (I'm left-handed). I dry fired for hours this week and fixed my trigger finger placement. This is the result. I am pretty pleased. There's still lots to improved but I'm pretty happy.

Initiation day

New to Canik. New to the sub.

I've been carrying Glock for years. Took the slide off for inspection, and then this happened. It was an easy fix, but for a second, I thought it was done for 😅.

Excited to go to the range and shoot this!

Tikka T1x ammo test

I think I finally found my precision rifle: Tikka T1x. I equipped it with an Arken 6-24 optic and CMMG suppressor. This thing is a tack driver.

Ammo test today. Sunny, 75F, 20mph, sitting bench, bipod, rear bag.

10 rounds of ammo tested, from Eley, SK, CCI, and cheap bulk. I shot 10 rounds of foulers in between ammos.

Quality of ammo definitely matters.
