rules for world boss farming?
I wanted to max the bestiary for all world bosses. Got the ordinary ones (black wolf, landshark etc) out of the way. But today I thought 'the sandworm queen takes forever' and checked - at 27%, same as it was ages ago.
Do I really need to start a new open world for every increase on the sandworm queen or great hunt targets?
EDIT 1: I went back to the prospect where I did the styx great hunt for the first time and killed the gargantuan again. Bestiary increased from 20 to 30%. Travelled to the desert and killed a giant scorpion, which was the final push to 100%. So far it seems you can increase the bestiary on prospects where you already killed the great hunt target. I will check rimetusk soon, and get back to elysium to see what's up with that sandworm queen. Another edit to this post will follow soon.
EDIT 2: Sandwyrm queen also increased, if only by 3%. I'm considering this solved.
does a cow uploaded to the station retain its milk?
I've got no need for milk at the moment anymore and my four cows eat too much considering they're just standing around. If I upload them to the station and later recall them, will they retain their 100% milk status that they currently have?
Same applies to sheep and wool I guess.
Elysium connection B9 to B8 - how do I build across that? Anyone got pics? How many materials do I need?
imgur.comall non-workshop armors in order - cost a pretty penny in legendary biomass, but finally my collection is done
imgur.comI never noticed the display figures have different poses - and well over 10!
imgur.comPretty chuffed about my T5 Elysium base, even if it still *is* a shoebox. Pretty sweet shoebox though! Descriptions under each pic.
imgur.comcan someone explain breeding for stats to me?
I got gifted an alpha dune raptor pair with perfect stats, which produce likewise perfect offspring. Apparently 100% of the time. No problems there.
However, in preparation for the likelihood of the devs fixing ignoring player overload when riding a mount I have started breeding buffalos, and there I start with decidedly imperfect stats. Note that my breeding char has all breeding talents.
Here is my current breeding pair. I understand that bloodline changes are random according to a probability table, that's fine. But I don't really see how stats work. I want to max instinct for slots, physique for weight, adaptation for heat/cold, toughness for phys res, reflex for movement speed and probably fitness for movement speed rather than vigor for extra health.
But it seems that so far stats mostly go down for me, which I assume is just bad luck. The question remains though, can I "lock in" good stats? Like, if I reach the maximum in a stat and then it doesn't go down anymore? Because so far I occasionally get better in one stat but two others go down and I don't know how to handle that - if the offspring now has 11 slots instead of the parents' 5 but worse heat/cold and phys res, that offspring isn't worth breeding, is it? Is the whole thing just random? When do I keep, when do I slaughter?
Also, I don't have pens or anything. So far I only use one breeding pair for both buffalos and raptors. Since I got a few young raptors at a time (remember, their stats never seem to go down; rarely there is a bloodline change but with max stats that doesn't matter to me, I just don't breed the non-alphas) I typically set all the young to follow me, inject the breeding male and then run away a bit until the gestating message pops up (so the wrong female doesn't get impregnated). What is the max distance for impregnation? How far away do I have to put another breeding pair so their mechanics are kept seperate? One pair takes entirely too long if I have to improve stats...
remember to skin everything during uranium extraction!
Of course I knew that skinning the radiated enemies netted a good portion of extra uranium, but I just had one of those cave nodes where enemies spawn directly on top of the extractor. As a result I skinned 100% of spawns (because I get tired of running too away of the extractor, I hate when it pauses just so I can skin something out of range - but here that wasn't a problem). Here are the numbers:
Uranium total: 463
Uranium from extractor: 287
Uranium from skinning: 176
rods from alpha skull mutts: 5
Factoring in the rods that means I got a whopping 43% of my total uranium from skinning!
does air conditioning counter null sector effects?
I wanted to make a full base in the null sector, and after mistaking the map info in L8 and K9 for water, settled down near the lava in K10, close to the cave connection to the ice sheet. As I severely underestimated the amount of concrete ramps and floors needed to cross the area I just had to return to home base and now I'm packing my bags again (a water purifier, another 150l tank, more beacon tool beacons, more ramps and floors etc).
I was originally going to add a water pump and purifier to make use of available water sources, but like I said there are none and I'm a moron. It seems my best bet right now is bringing a few metal rain reservoirs and filling them with ice from the nearby ice sheet - once I make a path there. I'm also considering a freezer but it might not be fast enough in providing ice.
Anyway, the water usage actually concerns me - I had a 150l tank and three canteens with me, and just the construction of my base took four canteens worth. I get that there is a 500% thirst increase in the null sector, but actual usage seems even more increased (I have all the reduction talents plus a -15% module). Now I'm wondering if one/multiple air condition units will provide relief? I already got a 150l biofuel tank in the base as well as a generator, and previous experience says it will basically run forever on that much biofuel. And it's not like I can't bring another tank.
But will air conditioning actually help with the thirst?
what is wrong with people in damnation difficulty?
Long time player here with over 600h. I'm currently working on getting auric-capable in all classes, not just two, and wrapping up penances. As a result I've been playing damnation psyker the last two days, my weakest class. Having thus to rely on my teammates has brought up some issues I don't notice in lower or in higher difficulties - in short, people are incredibly stupid when playing damnation:
working on the smiting penance I spam smite into hordes so my mates can mow down the stunlocked. Over the past seven (7) games I noticed all of them run past the stunlocked enemies. I could only complete it by staying back and smiting the enemies they were already attacking anyway. The number of people who still abandoned their targets and ran ahead is too damn high.
in one of those games, an ogryn who would only block. Not block-push then attack, only block. I stood there smiting and he stood there blocking the unmoving hordes.
people splitting up and going solo. People running past the elevator and continuing in a different direction, ignoring pings. People fighting for two minutes or more in such a direction before finally returning to the elevator
dropping a med crate six steps away from a healing station. Not at end of mission, mind you, in a spot we're leaving in five seconds. On one notable occasion, dropping a med crate in the elevator after the doors open and we can see the med station from there.
in the mission where you need to destroy the large filtration tank at the end, there is a spot where you need to activate a servo skull which can go either left or right. I activate it, it goes right, I follow - all three of my teammates go left and fight in the room up the stairs for long enough for me to go down and die
random insanity: I am at the back of the group, we run down a walkway. Two continue ahead, one makes a 90 degree turn, whacks an exploding barrel with his chain axe and blows the both of us off the railing. There was no enemy there, he just decided to melee an exploding barrel
I can understand that in uprising people don't know what is going on. Pretty much the same in malice. In heresy it gets more difficult and thus things that didn't matter before start to matter. This is where the majority of the stuff above should be dealt with, no?
So why on earth does it seem damnation is so much worse? People should have a relatively solid handle on things. And I'm not talking about some level 22 or something, who may be in their first damnation level games - all of the above was observed in games where everybody was level 30.
why is Artemis' prospect listed twice? I have another character with the same problem, where I can't get the advanced ore scanner back to orbit for some reason
imgur.comthe new pride of my base: the only specimen container that retained its contents, and while it tripled in size for some reason, it's the best piece of loot from Operation Nexus on Elysium!
imgur.comBUG: lost a desert saddle full of raw uranium...
This sucks. I just spent over an hour mining an uranium node in F13. Loaded up the entire inventory of myself and my raptor mount (who had the desert saddle) with the loot and travelled back. When I arrive I sprint into the house to reset my spawn point as I was at 100% radiation. Then I come back out and unload my inventory into the centrifuge in the outbuilding. The raptor is lying down near the troughs where I left it. There is a visiable miasma effect surrounding him.
But when I go into its inventory its empty! In fact, no saddle at all - which is crazy, I've just ridden the thing back here. So I go to character select and then resume the game, hoping the problem will have resolved itself.
WRONG! Still no saddle, still no loot, and no miasma cloud around the raptor anymore. Just to be sure I put another saddle on it, hoping I get an overflow bag or something, but no luck. I'm pretty pissed off, that's almost half my loot from an hour of ceaseless uranium mining fight!
EDIT: I should mention - thats a desert saddle, the slots from the skill tree and another 15 slots from max instinct values. So considerably more than the mere handful of slots of a wild raptor with the saddle on!
how do I reset the uranium nodes if the next one is too far away for me to farm it?
I made a new character and built my base close to eden. Now I reached T5 and want to start farming uranium. Problem is, I was mistaken about the J7 node being active (apparently you get the glowing cloud even if there is no active node) and the closest active node seems to be in B8 according to my geiger counter, and I really, really, REALLY don't want to travel to and from there...
Is there any easy way to reset the uranium nodes? I know merely starting to mine one will trigger the reset counter, but then I'd have to travel there, which is what I want to avoid. I know harvesting an exotics tree will do the same, but unless I'm mistaken they're all in the volcanic area too...
Is there any easier way to reshuffle the active nodes?
my new building on Elysium - questions re "inside" space and structural integrity
The look right now: https://imgur.com/a/P1JCzvJ
It's 4x8 at the moment, on limestone foundation (the one concrete wall line is ground floor, with 2 limestone walls on top). As you can see, the entrance is not in the middle, so I want to add another line at the right end. However, roof tiles were already cracking when placed, only stabilizing when I quickly connected to the other end.
can I add a 9th line at the end without the ceiling coming down? EDIT: I can. Took precautions of making another wall on the new outside with an angled roofpiece before dismantling the old angled piece and replacing it with a flat limestone roof, but by the looks of it it wasn't even neccessary. Guess the existing roof pieces provides enough stability. Better safe than sorry though.
the resulting space will be 4x9. I remember the problem about too large spaces no longer being considered 'inside'. Will that problem hit with 4x9 or is that only if both sides are 9, as in 9x9? EDIT: seems the whole thing being narrow prevents the 'no shelter' problem. All inside space is, indeed, considered 'inside'!
I also want to replace many, if not most, parts of the front and sides with reinforced glass. Will that hold? I never used reinforced glass in my main building.
finally, I want to build my reinforced glass house on top of the whole thing. This would mean it's the 4th floor above the foundation. Will the structure beneath hold?
