Hi all, i had my US TN visa (am Canadian) revoked in December after being heavily scrutinized. The border agents stated that my employer was in breach of the (IT Mgmt Consultant) TN Visa requirements and I would need to engage a lawyer immediately or voluntarily terminate my TN visa status. I chose the latter and they released me from the screening area. I was told.

1. This is not a black mark on my status
2. I can revisit the USA at any time for personal reasons, but not on this specific trip. (I have entered the USA twice to visit family since and received moderate additional questioning before being allowed to enter).
3. I can re-apply for a TN visa again anytime other than that specific date where my visa was revoked.

On that flight alone, i am aware of at least 6 other people (Different professions, visa lengths) that had their Visa scrutinized and cancelled. So I don't believe I was overly incompetent when presenting to the Agent.

Question:

My employer is shutting down their business. I am being asked to attend their sites in a review/meeting capacity to plan for the shutdown of the business. I am not doing work there, just meeting, discussing their requirements from the buyers for IT purposes. Then i will return to Canada and prepare a report.

Based on this, it would seem a standard B1 visit would be better than reapplying for a TN. But they are obviously going to scrutinize this as a bypass of the process.

I was thinking

1. Have a letter from management requesting travel to the USA
2. In the letter clearly state the purpose of the trip
3. Have a basic itinerary of my activities, meetings, site addresses, etc.

Do you think this is sufficient to gain entry into the USA? Do you have additional recommendations? Is a lawyer a good thing to consult with first?

Not looking for an MSP or IT shop, just freelancers with Hardware/Software/Networking experience for supporting onboarding, offboarding, computer setup, troubleshooting and so on.

Received notification yesterday evening on the vehicle about the update, ran the update this morning. Requires you to leave the vehicle on during update. Takes about 5 minutes to install and restart.

Update says it is for the Online Navigation System. It mentions that this helps smart cruise control, so i'm hopeful there will be a lot more HDA available roads.
