17x8.5 wheels, zero offset. Will they rub?

This is my ‘26 XLT. 2.7L v6 with FX4 package. Stock suspension, no level. I mounted fifteen52 Traverse HD wheels. They are 17x8.5 with zero offset. Tires are 265/70R17 Open Range AT plus from Les Schwab.

Note: I had mentioned previously that the wheels were 17x9. But I just looked at my invoice before writing this to make sure all of my numbers were correct. They are in-fact 17x8.5.

Photo 1: The rear crash bar has plenty of clearance.

Photo 2: The bottom of the felt wheel well liners. You can see that there is a little bit of a bend that is formed into the liner. It’s a little dirty towards the bottom. That’s where the tire will rub in full lock reverse. It’s ever so slight, but the tire touches.

Photo 3: You can see that the tire touches the felt. This is in tight full lock reverse. The felt could be trimmed back easily. Maybe even fastened a little tighter, because there is a little bit of free movement when you push the liner in with your finger.

Photo 4: I love the look! Cheers

Ranger Fam, I hope this helps answer questions if you are considering 17’s with zero offset. I am sure a leveling kit would take care of any rubbing with this wheel/tire combo.

My ‘21 XLT that I just sold.

This truck took me to 14 National Parks, and many more monuments. Endless trails, and lots of campfire whiskey sipping nights. Cactus Grey is a great color. 👌🏼
