Save the Date: Middle Age Baddies Meetup (MA'BAM...?) - Sept 4, 6-9pm, ArtPark 1st Friday

Hello again & thank you all so much for showing interest in this thing!

Hopefully someone else gets a kick out of my attempt at a whimsical acronym name for the group...if you have any ideas/suggestions, happy to hear

I wanted to find something not too far in the future, though can give folks enough time to plan for....that isn't too spendy, and also centrally located.

All that said, without further adieu....

WHO: Anyone identifying as in middle age & a woman (that includes *anyone*)

WHAT: Food trucks, live music, 1st Friday return to RiNO, new friends?

WHERE: ArtPark First Friday Festival in front of Denver Zine Library/Bob Ragland Branch

WHEN: Friday, September 4, 6 pm (the website says it ends at 9, though folks are welcome to keep hanging)

WHY: New friends & growth in middle age is *HARD!*

Apparently you can get 50% off a drink by RSVP'ing on their site also here: https://rinoartdistrict.multipass.com/first-friday-festival-september

I will def. wear some kind of funky hat/shirt/dress/carry a sign & let y'all know - hope to see you there!

Did the middle-age women meetup just totally go poof?

I saw someone post a "speed friend" event recently for women 30/40/50's and then saw the subsequent posts about agism....was this cancelled? I am 41F anyhow, currently going through some of the most lonely and challenging mental and social health issues of my lifetime, and hoping to rebuild/find a strong positive community. I was going to check out this event, though I guess the hate got too bad?

I am open to friends of all ages anyhow, and would love to start something like this for "our" people -- just a monthly, cozy time for women to connect about life and the boat we are all in together...enjoy food and a drink, maybe do some crafting, I am open

I am not a huge drinker, though love a good coffee or tea (also 420 friendly). I love dancing, bookstores, thrift shopping, museums, festivals, etc. I see so many posts here and the regular Denver reddit extolling the woes of meeting people/making friends, and I feel them with all my heart, especially as someone close to turning 42

It would be cool to have a monthly regular meetup (no age cut-off, but also just a caveat that the focus is on "middle age" -- however you define that, I know there's no clear cut off! All ages would be welcome), that could maybe turn into whatever other socializing organically as happens. What do you all think? Am I just having wishful thinking that people could come together like this? (and if so, feel free to DM!)

EDIT: Thank you all so much for showing interest! STAY TUNED!

Ladytron tonight? 6/3, 8 pm @ Oriental

My boyfriend is sick and I am looking for someone to take his ticket

I am 41/F, happily in a relationship, though like many folks here in my age range, I definitely feel the deep woes of socializing/"finding my people" -- COVID + the dissolution of over a decade with my ex really left me feeling adrift and moderately depressed/alone the last few years (probably in more ways than I can understand, and also probably part of why I can't find anyone to go to this show!)

Anyhow, it'd be great to meet more people, and if we happen to jive together, even more awesome! Mostly just don't want the ticket to go to waste, esp. if there is a fellow fan I could gift it to
