Conflicted on what to do with a damaged item I received.

So basically this is my second time buying from this seller and I really like them! For this purchase, I spent $165 on a dress and $70 on a top (vintage y2k). They came today but the top has a fairly large hole in the back by the tag which I honestly think the seller just didn’t see but also they didn’t disclose it. I don’t think I would’ve spent $70 on the top if I knew it had a hole and I don’t think I can repair it because of the placement and fabric. I am kind of new to Whatnot so I don’t know if I should message the seller first? Or just start a dispute?? Not sure if it counts against them? I would possibly like to purchase from them again despite this but definitely not happy about it.. Any thoughts or opinions?

Royal Nefertiti Cattery- My Experience.

I wanted to share my experience with Royal Nefertiti cattery so others are aware in case they’re still breeding.

Disclaimer: I would in fact do it all over again because I LOVE my Mau- she’s the light of my life for the last 15 years but it was a hard start for us.

I randomly got acquainted with this Cattery 15 years ago and went by to look at their new litter. Their house seemed clean, but I soon realized they had cats hidden in every room, and it seemed a bit of a cat hoarder situation. I did not like that the older female cats were kept in the garage, because where we are in California it gets to be over 100°F, and the males were outside in cages (in the dirt). The litter was zipped up in a smaller fabric play pen and my cat jumped out and was obviously much older and seemed a bit feral tbh. They told us she was 3 months old (she was in fact 6 mo old) and they wanted to breed her but would give us a deal if we took her that day. We agreed because she seemed like she needed to be free. We NEVER got her registration or paperwork and after many months of asking were told they were behind and couldn’t produce it.

Anyways, when we got home with her she was extremely frightened and not use to people AT ALL. We noticed two small patches on her face almost like scabs. The breeder insisted they were heat spots from traveling in the car that day. After the weekend there were more spots and the vet confirmed she was infested with ringworm. My poor baby had to be quarantined from the rest of our pets in my room all summer for 12 weeks of oral antibiotics because it had gotten SO bad. The breeders admitted they knew and were treating the spots with human foot fungus cream. She also had a double ear infection and struggled with ear infections for a while after.

They offered to give us free raw meat (that had no extra nutrients added) to compensate the vet visit and antibiotics- which honestly didn’t even come close to the price. I never asked for money back because at that point I bonded with my cat and I didn’t care about the money I just wanted to save her. They gave us our depot back on a smoke kitten, which I regret not getting, but at the time I was overwhelmed from trying to give my baby oral meds twice a day and get her more comfortable with people, so I didn’t want to risk infecting her again.

Overall, the experience was exhausting and not professional for a top of the line breeder- obviously. They were a nice couple and had beautiful cats but it looked like they were overwhelmed and not taking proper care of their animals. I researched after and found reviews that someone’s Mau had passed away after bringing them home and someone else from
4 years prior had ringworm on their new kitten also.

It seems like they’ve moved from CA to OR then NV and maybe now east coast? Upset to see someone allegedly had a similar experience with ringworm in 2024. So let this be a warning if you plan to purchase from this Cattery (if they’re still open) that you need to be prepared to spend extra money on a vet visit to treat your new baby for ringworm.

Getting my senior cat to stop grazing.

So long story short my senior (15 yr old) cat was sick for a few months and is better, but did lose a little weight. She had to get teeth pulled and basically has no upper molars on the top back. She started gagging weird after post op day 15 (vet doesn’t know why) but during that time I took away dry food completely so she was only eating wet. Seems like she understood she wasn’t doing great all of a sudden with the dry (bc of gagging) so she was fine with it- I had tried previously in the past but failed.

Now that she’s only on wet food I’m trying to get her to eat more each feeding, but she only wants to graze all day. I obviously can’t leave wet food out that long but the other issue is she has lost weight and I want to get her to eat and gain more so I have been feeding her like 4-6 times a day, but each time she’s barley eating. After the last round of antibiotics she seems like she has more of an appetite finally so now I’m doing 3-4 times, but she still will only take a few bites and then come back in an hour to eat more. I pull the bowl away each time to try to show her she needs to eat more but then when she’s back in her food spot an hour later I give it to her again bc I want her to fatten up..

Any advice or will I be feeding slave to my kitty 24/7 now🫩🫩

My 15 yr old cat had a few back molars pulled on April 13th. This was her 3rd dental procedure and I believe most of the teeth in the far back are gone now, but I don’t know exactly.

Yesterday she ate a thicker pate for breakfast and gagged a little bit; I thought maybe it was just too thick for her. For lunch I gave her more of a watery gravy and she ate okay but after eating did it again- same for dinner. She doesn’t get hairballs usually and she didn’t spit anything up from it- seemed almost more like she was licking/gaging. I tried to open her mouth to examine but she was not having it. I did get a finger in her mouth and didn’t feel anything. She is completely normal besides that- playing, wanting to eat, etc.

I fed her this morning wet food again and she didn’t do it. Shes also grooming herself like normal as well. Should I make an appt with the vet to check or keep monitoring her? There’s no smell from her mouth, no swelling, and she is not acting in pain.
