Disappointed in Fireboard Pulse. Going back to my old Meater

I purchased a Fireboard Pulse around launch in May 2025. I came from Meatr > Thermoworks RTX (returned) > to the Pulse. I thought it was awesome that it can control the fan using the Pulse's external temp and really bought into the ecosystem.

Prior to this, I purchased a Fireboard a few years ago, so I've had experience with the brand and product and was super happy.

Well after a little over a year and not as much use as i would have liked, the Pulse seems to be a bit more frail than the robust feeling Fireboard unit. I've probably used this thing less than 10 times in a year (life happens) but I noticed when mounting it this last time, the external probe separated itself from the lollipop and the unit stays "on" even when mounted. I can push the circular thing back into place but I can only mount it one side now and because the unit things it's "on" all the time, I have to charge it before every use.

Anyone else have experience with this? I contacted support but they wanted me to pay to send back in and honestly, I don't care to deal with that hassle; paying for shipping, packing it, dropping it off, etc. The rep didn't say what would happen after I sent it in, whether they'd charge me to repair it, buy a new one, or pay to send it back. I didn't want to risk dumping more money into an unknow situation.

Thank god I kept my old Meater probes that still work as I have a cook coming up this weekend. I don't know what new Meatr probes are like, but I have the ones pre-Traeger acquisition. This design seems much better with less failure points.

Last pic attached: the last thing my Pulse saw.

Just wanted to share my experience and rant a little bit.

Recently felt a mid life crisis was missing from my life so I picked watches after not caring for 41 years. I bought two pieces for my first purchase and this is one of them.
