GoC job cuts and market

11 months ago someone posted in here asking if the job cuts in government had impacted the housing market and the consensus was "too soon to say".

About a year later, what's the view? 10,000 cuts in 2025 and 12,000 in 2026, with 45% in the NCR (according to AI). So that's 9,900 cuts in the Ottawa area. Pretty material. One factor is that people who leave get some severance so tough decisions around selling homes/downsizing can be postponed a while.

Difference between and English and an Irish fry up?

Besides the religion of the chef, what's the difference between English/scottish and Irish fry up?

This was in edinburgh, mushrooms were bleh, but rest including haggis was great. 10 pounds without coffee/tea, toast included (out of frame)

Check out Foodinator in Sandy Hill for really good Chinese. Family owned, always good vibes. I've been twice and the standout dishes were the fried eggplant and the spicy chicken. The presentation on the dishes is also incredible.

I don't really recommend the dim sum, it's just not what they specialize in.
