Affordable led strips

Im moving back into my house after renting it out for a year and im having to do a small restart on my smart home stuff. My biggest hurtle is the led strips, before I was using a mixture of some govee strips and usb powered insignia strips that I used wemo switches for because I got them real cheap through work. That setup worked fine but the govee strips would never stay connected to wifi and the insignia strips werent really smart. Im wanting to get all new stuff and have more consistency but id really rather not spend 60+ per light strip. Whats the big brain play with light strips cuz ill need around 20 of them give or take. I feel like ive seen people diy this stuff and I assume that saves a bundle of cash but like whats the stuff to do that

My criteria:

  1. Has to work with Google home

  2. Has to be cuttable

  3. Has to be the rgbw (i think that's the one with the dedicated white light)

  4. Has to be as future proof as possible I think im seeing matter is the new thing thats good for that?

  5. If possible being able to daisy chain strips somehow as I would like to illuminate some book individual book shelfs but not have to have 5 outlets for individual light strips.

I was thinking the ge cync was a miracle product but I was kinda bummed out with the quality and the spacing of the leds themselves when I got it.

Went with the 98" qm7k

Redoing my basement into a little theater room 98-100 is maxing out what I can fit down there so im pretty excited. Thought about doing the qm6k pro from costco to save a buck but bestbuy dropped the 7 down to 1899 and with the free install that I dont have to mess around with myself that sold me. I also thought of splurging for the 8 but I kinda figured the big thing with the 8 is that its probably a 7 that mainly just gets way brighter right? Who thinks I made the right call? For context this room is gonna be painted dark Grey walls and ceiling, no windows and dark carpet. Also coming from a 77 c1 oled and i do play a ton of video games Im optimistic that the size and small fps boost will be a good enough trade off lol

Open box qm7k 98inch vs new

Its from best buy $1429 open box fair they told me it was the display model vs $1899 for a brand new one. Free delivery and install on either, how do we feel about a display model thatd have probably over a year of constant run time on it with full brightness. Could also get the 5 year protection on it and still be less than new.

Oled dpad squeaking

My dpad on my steam deck is super squeaky to the point where I reach for something else to play. Im wondering if abyone else has had this problem and found a remedy for it. Im not interested in the clicky mod from extremerate as that is also too loud and requires a bit more force than id like to press. I 3dprinted myself a Playstation style pad but it didnt sit right and only registered inputs about half the time but no squeaky sound! I just came across the magnetic adapter dpad for Xbox elite style dpads on etsy and thought that might work well but itll be almost $60 for everything, anyone by chance try that one?

D130 video exposure

Anyone else have the d130 and find the video to be over exposed, or unsaturated? I did some Googling and it says theres a setting in the video and display that lets you enable some dynamic range stuff but no such setting exists for me.

Thoughts on the qm6k pro

Doing a bit of remodeling in the basement and im gonna be able to fit a bigger tv than what I had previously (77" c1 oled) A little birdie told me that the qm6k pro 98" at costco is gonna be $1599 next week. This is going in the basement, dark walls dark carpet no windows so im not concerned with having a light canon of a screen like on the qm8k which I also considered for bestbuys sale of 3k at the moment. Or the c5 77inch for around the same as the qm6, no free 5 year warranty on either of those guys tho. I love oled to death but I just feel like for what im calling my "theater" room i gotta go as big as I can. Tv will see a ton of gaming and movies not a sports guy so not concerned in that dept.
