**UPDATE** 2027 BMW iX3 1,000 KM Challenge

Phewww are we glad that’s over… would not recommend!

The iX3 and X7 were flawless - managed 10.8 KWH / 100 KM avg for the trip and 1,011 total KM on the single charge which should be a new record for the vehicle (I didn’t check).

Rolled into the charging station with 2% charge and 16 KM showing left DTE. Swung back around for some more mileage just to make sure we beat the guys in Germany.

Looking forward to a normal drive home. 😄

Starting our own 1,000 KM challenge in the 2027 iX3 tonight (Canada)

We know they did this in Germany already, but wanted to take a stab at it as just a couple of normal dudes. Starting in Niagara Falls, Canada and attempting to make it to Quebec City (940KM) on one 100% charge. If (huge if) we make it there, we will continue on and try to hit 1,000 KM.

Depending on how this goes, we might do it again in the iX xDrive60 and the iX5 when it comes.

Will be on YouTube eventually - good luck to us!

Why does my Hayward H250FDN sound like this? LO error often.

Has been making this moaning / whining noise since last year. If I haven’t immediately backwashed my sand filter, it will run for a minute or two then throw LO error. I replaced the flow switch, but it must be some obstruction or build up? Even after backwashing, emptying the skimmer basket, and the pump basket it will still throw LO once the pool warms up to ~~ 85 degrees give or take… then shut down, wait 30 seconds, fire up, run for a minute or two then rinse and repeat.

Heater is ~~ 7 years old in Ontario, Canada. Not using salt water. Hose / rain water in the pool and it’s not especially hard.

Anyone have any ideas? Could it be build up in the heat exchanger? Appreciate any advice you folks could provide.. I did pull the heater apart and nothing looked especially out of place. I have not tried the jumper testing yet because of this noise.

What could have caused this? All high-gloss black trim is the same. Can’t get it off…

It’s hard and was definitely wiped on. I’ve tried solvent, compound, and attacking it with my fingernail but nothing phases it… every single piece of high gloss black trim and the carbon fibre mirror caps have the same stuff on them.

Am I crazy to think that someone tried to ceramic coat the pieces and forgot to wipe it off? Would ceramic dry hard like super glue if you wiped it on nice and wet then just left it there? It wasn’t wrapped, and the wipe marks extend into the paint at certain places on each piece.

Looking at having to replace all of the trim pieces if I can’t figure out how to remove this stuff!
