Our 2025 iX50 lease is up in August, so getting a bit ahead of ourselves. BMW of Bellevue got one 2027 X5 in Vancouver Green so we drove up to spend 30 minutes with it.

First impression...not too bad. Vancouver Green was really nice in the sun, looking dark with a lot of metal flake to really shine. Even the steering wheel wasn't as bad in person as the internet wants you to think. Seats were super comfy and massage is better than the terrible iX "massage".

Started the test drive and began pressing buttons. Our iX is pretty high-spec with almost every option except for leather interior. The B&W system in the iX blows the 2027 X5 out of the water. Seemed so week in comparison and those seat rumblers in the iX make a big difference.

We also have an i4 M50 and are used a tighter fit. Coming from the iX and an interior that feels like you're in a living room, the X5 feels more cramped. Comfy yes, but more of a chair instead of the couch. Not sure how I feel about the screen situation. The panoramic display is kinda cool, but it seemed like we had to raise our seats higher than normal to see the hood. Might be because we are very short peoples though.

Little things like no switch in the back to put the rear seats down and lack of physical vent controls was annoying, but not as infuriating as the decision to remove the tailgate. Come on BMW! Oh, and no iDrive controller. Boooooo.

The iX5 will still be an option, but now we are thinking about just purchasing our iX when the time comes. Residual will be $52K and it will have close to 50k miles on it. Not sure that will make sense though. We also might extend our lease and see if the iX7 is better when it releases closer to 2028. After looking at this new X5, we spent some time pushing buttons in an X7 on the showroom floor. We actually liked that much better than the new X5. I know they are going to implement most of the new interior look and feel with the iX7, but if it retains the tailgate and premium feel, it could be an option.

I just got the lectron voltex plus during prime day sales. Tested and plug and play works so that's great.

How do you get the supercharger locations to show up in the Navi? I saw old post about adding the adapter in the my bmw app. However, when I go to the app in the adapter section it just has a link to order. Nothing about adding that I have one.

Not too shabby

I purchased a 24 CPO in April, I got a low pressure warning a few weeks ago and my local tire guy pulled the back tire off and this is what we found. I was told to park this death trap until I could get the tires replaced.

I talked to my local BMW dealership and $800 for 2 tires and straight to the dealership (1.5 hrs away) to investigate what could have chewed up the tires to this dangerous level in less than 8k miles. The front and back were seriously out of alignment and that was fixed. They told me going over potholes or bumpy terrain can knock it out of alignment.......I live on acreage off a gravel road!!

I drove a Blazer EV and put 45k miles without any of these issues or tires degradation with normal rotation. I love the car and it drives nicely but not if I can't drive it around without worrying about the alignment and tires going to shit! It drove straight and no issues even when the alignment is way out so there's no way to know.

Thoughts, Suggestions, Advice?

Well, I thought it would be as simple as remove and replace, but the rear wiper to my 2023 IX has been discontinued. The only option is either to jerryrig existing housing or install the entire new unit. Worst part is that my maintenance program that should have included wiper replacement expired in June and 600 miles ago! If you have the maintenance program, make sure you request wiper replacement before it expires!

My wife and I recently bought a 2024 CPO BMW IX for $53k. It had 15k miles and it was in excellent condition. We debated about whether to buy a BMW because it seemed ostentatious. We always played it safer (and cheaper) with Nissan Rogue, Honda CRV, and even a used Honda Odyssey. We never owned a luxury car. However, my wife made a great point. We both worked super hard to be where we are in careers and we deserve a little treat. After one month of ownership, we love it! It feels premium, luxurious, and, honestly, rewarding. I am weighing a used BMW certified with 37,000 miles at $45,000; the options are attached, so I would value your perspective. Thank you.

Looking at purchasing this 2023 IX with 44k miles on it. Asking is $40,500. I live in Colorado so made sure to get the air suspension to lift it when doing a little offroading to get to trail heads and such. Anything you see it might be missing or anything I ought to know? Thanks in advance!
