11 yr boy taking xolair

My 11 yr started the injections 3 months ago for cold urticaria; he would get hives anytime it was colder than 70 degrees. We live in Seattle, it is rarely over 70 degrees Fahrenheit. (Currently 56) And if he got too hot he would have a severe asthma attack. Xolair has majorly improved all of that, he's not has any asthma attacks and very few hives since starting. The trouble is that there's screaming and crying every time. The insurance never approved in office injections so we've always done them at home. His report is that the injections are very painful. We let them warm up to body temp and do them in the abdomen. Is there anything else that will help?

Non-stimulant for focus

My son is 11, at the end of his 5th grade yr. He was diagnosed at age 5 with ADHD combined. We've tried several different stimulants to help with focus but they all make him twitchy. He's on guanfacine 4mg to help him control his body and clonidine .03mg at bedtime for sleep. What non-stimulants have others found helpful for focus? He works with a great psychiatrist but I like to come armed with information.

Pressure activated heating pad

If you've got an old pup with aches and pains, they make pressure activated heating pads that can be set to a low temp. Just got one for our 15 yr old gal and she loves it.

What would you do with the boarder to finish this baby blanket?

This was a last minute baby blanket and I really didn't want to have to buy more yarn. I do not have enough yellow or cream to finish a shell boarder. Do I leave it as is, add something in a different color (lots at home to pick from) or do buy another color of yellow (I'll never find a perfect match)? I thought about a round of pale green and pick flowers on it. It's for a girl and the family is very traditional. What's your creative advice?
