BDCs going crazy this week

What's with the sudden surge in BDCs? Planning to add tomorrow with my divs from today and they all went up a ton. My TRIN
position went way past its 52 week high. I almost want to trim some to buy more MAIN and ARCC at lower prices.

What is going on in the BDC space right now?

Why did refurb prices go up too?

Makes no sense.....those machines were already built and should not have been affected by higher component prices. Apple is just price gouging and resetting the market now.

Thoughts on RH div tracker?

I don't check my RH account that often but just saw it today. Pretty useful information. Yield, dividend payment, ex div date, pay date all listed in an easy to find format.

Also shows dividends received for the year and projected. It's a nice little new feature and better than Vanguard or Fidelity for certain.

53 years old, $1.2M invested, targeting retirement at 59. How did you rebalance 8–10 years out?

I’m curious what others actually did as they got within 8–10 years of retirement.
I’m 53 with about $1.2M invested across retirement accounts(deferred & non-taxable)and hoping to retire around 59.

Most of my growth came from staying aggressive in tech over the years — GOOG, GOOGL, AAPL, AMZN, PLTR, etc. with very low cost basis. That strategy worked extremely well for me.

But now I’m wrestling with the transition from “maximize growth” to “protect and compound.” I’m not looking to become conservative overnight or go full 60/40. I still want strong growth and can tolerate volatility. But I also don’t want to risk giving back too much this close to retirement.

For those who’ve been through this stage:
Did you gradually trim concentrated winners?

Shift toward broader ETFs/index funds?

Add more dividend/value exposure?

Increase bonds/cash at all?

Any regrets staying too aggressive or getting defensive too early?

Would especially love hearing from people who were in a similar position in their early 50s and are now retired or close to it.

5 weeks in and I feel amazing. I'm seeing a lot of the typical positive changes from this way of eating. However, in the past week my hunger has literally disappeared. I am eating one meal a day (not by choice - mainly forcing myself) and probably eating less than 1500 cals).

I know this isn't good and my protein and calories need to go up but I don't have any hunger signals or cues to eat. I'm a bigger guy (270) and have around 100 lbs to lose.

Is this a normal phase or response? I feel fine. Sleeping fine. Drinking fluids and getting salt/electrolytes. Exercise is just walking at the present.

Any advice or personal anecdotes that might help?
