How To Enjoy Yourself

Made a bit of a silly one.

I started with sampling some kids relaxation music that my daughter listens to on Spotify (which I'm fairly convinced is AI generated) and chop sampled the opening song.

Added some drums and bits I found online including a couple of vocal samples and that was about it.

All in all it came together quite quickly.

Obscure Sampled Salsa Inspired Beat (Shape of Broad Minds & Pinc Louds)

Been working on this on and off for a few days.

Has a couple of obscure samples in it:

Bassy drum bit: Budda Fly Away by Shape of Broad Minds

First vocal chop: Dream Catcher by Pinc Louds.

Found a nice salsa piano sample that worked well - and this was the end result.

As a bonus it also seems to pace quite nicely to The Cat In The Hat, so that's fun.

Enjoy.

Arnold Clark & Bumblebee - Stuck In A Loop

I bought an MG4 from Arnold Clark last week, and wanted to make use of their EV charging offer via Bumblebee (which I believe they own).

But I seem to be caught in a frustrating back and forth between them and my local dealership. The dealership has said they have processed my referral, bumblebee have said if I haven't received any comms from them then they haven't received anything about my purchase.

A Bumblebee said their communications are automated upon receipt of a referral, so if I have received anything from them then they haven't had anything from the dealership. The dealership is adamant they have processed everything at their end....

I've honestly got no idea what to do and everyone is just finger pointing at each other.

Our Son got this card from a parent at school.

Our son started nursery in 2018 and made a friend on the first day. When they were in infant school this boy developed epilepsy, which got so bad he often couldn't be in lessons with the rest of the class and missed a lot of school due to medical appointments.

Yesterday was their last day in junior school, and his friend is due to go to a special educational needs school in September, and his Mum wrote our son a card.

I can't stop reading it. I'm so proud of him.

My Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Has Conked Out...EV on a limited budget

My Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid appears to be on its last legs. It needs a repair which is probably going to end up costing more than the car is worth, so aiming to chop it in.

I've probably got a top end budget at the moment of £8k and have seen an 2021 MG5 52.5kWh Exclusive with 59k on the clock or a 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Premium SE with 45k on the clock.

I like the fact the MG has a bigger range and is newer, but obviously has more miles on the clock.

Which would you choose?

Car Repair Misdiagnosis - England

Last week I took my car into a local garage we've used for years. The issue was my car was losing coolant.

At first glance the garage called me to warn me it was going to be an expensive fix but they will.investigate the exact cause.

An hour later they called back and said my heat exchanger is cracked and needs replacing. Total cost £2,000.

Authorised the work as it was just in the threshold of a worthy repair for a car worth approx £7k.

I picked up the car on Friday afternoon.

By Saturday afternoon the coolant tank in the car was completely empty again.

They are closed over the weekend but have left my car on their forecourt for first thing tomorrow.

My question is where do I stand at this point having already paid £2k for a repair which didn't repair my car.

My worry is now that they would re-look at the car and say that the issue was caused by a damaged heat exchange unit AND something else, which then means another large bill on top of the one I've already paid.

From my view, if the car repair lands up costing me more than £3k then it probably isn't worth it.

So where do I stand if they now find another issue they missed first time? Can I ask for my £2k back? Should they repair at no cost given they diagnosed the issue but have made a mistake?

It's causing me so much stress having already paid out so much and now have the risk of another large bill.

Want to set up a group?....Community Space Available In Burton

Hi all

I have recently taken over a space in Burton that I want to make available for community groups at zero cost.

I have three rooms available, basically a small room that can fit around 15, a medium room for around 25 and a large room where we could get around 50 depending on configuration.

We also have catering on site for teas/coffees/cakes and hot food.

So if you have a community group, or are thinking of setting up a group and need a space, feel free to get in touch.

Sample Flip

Made this little sample flip using the intro to a song called Give Me A Moment by Ondara. Added some drums and other bits I found online, including a short vocal sample.

All in all, pretty happy.
