Hi all. Just wanted to share my experience and get any comments or ideas. I am having serious glitch and playback issues with my Panasonic UB820. I bought it in 2022, probably 2 years in I started getting minor glitching on a couple of my discs, I just had to fast forward a few minutes and playback resumed to normal. It was something I just lived with.

However recently it has gotten A LOT worse. It absolutely refuses to play The Matrix and Top Gun Maverick. On these two movies I get "This disc cannot be played because of compatibility problem" and "Cannot read. Please check disc". I have watched these movies before on this player with zero issues.

I was watching the Godfather Part 2 this week and about 40mins in it started glitching and continues for the entire movie, I can't get it to stop.

I bit the bullet and bought a new UB820 thinking that it was the disc reader dying. Guess what... This brand new 2026 build player has the EXACT same issue with all 3 discs.

I am gutted. Does anyone else have any experience with this? Is my only option (other than digital storage and playback) a Magnetar? I'm based in Australia.

Edit: I have tried the regrease trick on both readers to no avail.

Edit 2: I did buy the Clean Dr disc a few weeks before the new unit and it didn't do anything...
