Finally after weeks (or even a month) working on it, it is fully printing now!

As a last effort I decided to clean the filament entirely and unclog the nozzle again, and it seems that everything ended paying off, now I just need some upgrades to it to get even better quality, but for a starting point i'm actually very satisfied, always wanted a 3D printer, now I think I finally got one, hopefully after everything i learned I can help other people here even though i'm still a beginner

keychain is for a friend, asked for a HP choosing hat, printing isn't that perfect still but for a 3D printer that was sitting in storage for years, previous owner had cut the extruder wires and cables, had to do a lot of work but everything went right in the end it seems, thanks to this subreddit and a friend of mine, we basically spent weeks working on this.

Ender 3 v1, strange issue, extrusion only works when not printing

Got this Ender 3 v1 from a friend's parent for cheap, and it has this strange issue, when printing it can't push the filament forward but if I go and manually extrude while not printing anything it does spill out molten filament normally, is this a slicer misconfiguration or any other issue? Gear seems to grip fine since it even creates gear markings on the filament when it pushes it in, this is my first 3D printer since a new one is too expensive for me now, but I'll buy a new one whenever I can, I tried unclogging burned filament, changing filament, slicer settings, sometimes it even makes a noise when feeding, any tips or ideas on what to do? I'm thinking also on upgrading the extruder setup to a direct feed instead, hoping this issue stops with that, also, any upgrades that are worth it? board is a v1.1.4, but I'll later upgrade to a v4.2.7, I do have one but MCU got toasted because I tightened the hotend thermistor too much and it shorted the ADC, at least it works with the older one, I'm using OrcaSlicer with basically the generic configs for this printer, been spending days on trying to solve this but never was able to get any progress.
